How to cut glass I posted a picture about 1 week ago on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter of me cutting glass using just string. I got LOT’S of requests for a tutorial on how I DID THIS! So here it is. FINALLY! You will be able to learn how to cut glass. I want to warn you. It’s best to triple your yarn because it will burn longer! Soak it GOOD! I like to tie my yarn where I want my glass to “cut” then quickly pour polish remover over the string again. Get a big bowl with ice and water ready. VERY IMPORTANT! Slowly turn your bottle. little guiding stars Since the new year has started I’ve been trying to think of ways to be more kind to my self. Especially when that nasty gremlins try to creep in and stump me. How to: Hand Painted Mug October 17th, 2011 I’ve been wanting to try porcelain paint for a while, and it’s just as amazing as I anticipated. You have to give it a try. The holidays are coming up, and hand painted coffee/cocoa mugs would make great gifts! Supplies: porcelain mug (mine is from CB2) Pebeo Porcelaine 150 outliner (available at Dick Blick) There are transparent porcelain paints that you apply with a brush and outliners which are thicker and opaque. If you want to achieve the ink-like look that I did, go with an outliner. How to: 1. Make your own gallery Ok! Due to popular demand, you can now make your OWN art gallery. In my family unpacking from a trip often includes trying to find places to store or display random keepsakes we’ve picked up along the way. Filling your shadow box with too many pictures or items and result in framed collection of clutter. Supplies: 12×12 Shadow Box 12×12 print a select few of your keepsakes double sided tape craft supplies (clothespins, masking tape, decorative labels, hot glue gun, etc.) Step 1: Create your background using the Alphabet Frames templates. Step 2: Remove the label inside the shadow box and attach your 12×12 print using the double sided tape. Step 3: Begin creating simple displays for some of your items. Step 4: Tilt the shadowbox and begin placing your keepsakes inside.
How to: photo clip frame Confession: I am compelled to take pictures of flowers and insects. Problem: I don’t usually choose these to send to the printer. Solution: a photo clip frame. Unbeknownst to me, this project actually started at the end of last summer when my boo and I were out taking our nightly constitutional and came upon a box sitting in a neighborhood yard. What I used for this project: Drill/Dremel1mm drill bit (or roughly the same size at the largest wire used)1mm (19 gauge) wire.33 wirewire cutterpenciltape measurepliersandpaper, paint, brush18″ x 20″ wooden picture frame How I made it: I sifted through my stash of frames and settled on one of the 18 x 20′s. I sanded it down and gave it a couple coats of white semi-gloss. Then I marked the sides at 1/3 intervals, starting at 3/4″ from the top opening. Next, I shoved 1mm (19 gauge) wire into the holes.
