IPL 2020 Has Been Postponed Until Further Notice - BCCI The IPL 2020 edition has been deferred for the indefinite time period due to coronavirus pandemic. Because of the COVID-19 scare globally, the Indian cricket board has decided to suspend the edition until further notice. The story On Wednesday Hemang Amin, the IPL’s chief operating officer informed all the eight franchises about the call taken by the BCCI. He told that, following the extension of the nationwide lockdown till May 3 by the Indian government, the chanced of hosting the event in the summer window was not possible anymore. “Yes, the BCCI has intimated us that IPL has been postponed for the time being but they are hopeful of finding a window later this year as and when things normalise,” a veteran franchise official was quoted as saying by PTI.
