Build a Laser 3D Printer - Stereolithography at Home

Here is how to make a Stereolithography 3D Printer. It is still a bit of a work in progress but so far it is working pretty well. This is mainly an experiment which started as a Delta Robot Stereolithography Printer but ended as a more traditional Cartesian Stereolithography Printer. "I'll be honest, we're throwing science at the walls here to see what sticks. No idea what it'll do." - Cave Johnson Stereolithography (SL or SLA from Stereolithography Apparatus) is an additive manufacturing process using a vat of liquid UV-curable photopolymer "resin" and a UV laser to build parts one layer at a time. I have wanted a 3D Printer for a while now and there are some very reasonably priced kits available like the Makerbot, Ultimaker and the RepRap project. I decided to enter this in the Epilog Challenge Contest because I could really use a laser cutter :-) I also have some ideas how to redesign this project, for creation on a laser cutter. This project is Open Source Hardware.

How to make a tool set Life without tools is barbaric. But even simple tools can be expensive in rural parts of developing countries. Import duties bump the costs up higher than they are in the States or elsewhere, and sometimes only low-quality brands are available anyway. So, to hold off future barbarians, we'd like to show how to build a simple tool set on a very low budget. Larry Bentley, the man who figured out how to make these tools, said a wise thing: "Without tools, kids don't take stuff apart, and without taking stuff apart, you don't learn how things work." These tools, Bentley says, could be in the hands of the next William Kamkambwa, who made a working wind power generator from backyard scraps in a village in Malawi. Here's Larry's quick guide to DIY tools. The tools in this guide: Saw Pliers Wooden vice Wood drill bit / star drill bit Chisel Strap hinge vice

Schauberger(eng.) The author of the article gives a brief description of the real design of aircraft engine. Probably, this design is not similar to Schauberger's one. However the very appearance of some ideas is rather interesting. Different people in different places and time come to the same conclusions. Whether people think in a common way, or Nature laws are the same. Could you believe that the author of the article has never read or heard about Schauberger's works (I mean his engine, which operates on environment energy and has levitation properties)? Fig.1 The possible internal device is shown in Fig,2 (the device is turned upside-down with respect to the photos). Fig.2 Since the author of this work does not purpose to appropriate other's fame, then there is an attempt to explain easily the arrangement of the engine. Undoubtedly a wheel, which seems strange at first sight (see Fig.3), is the main part of the engine. Fig.3 Thus the wheel creates 24 mini-tornados. Fig.4 Fig.5 Fig. 6 Fig.11 Fig.12 1. 2. 3.

Top 10 DIY Tech Gifts @keyboard-vomit: Yeah, but wouldn't it be awesome if some of our not so tech friends actually attempted (and accomplished) one or more of these feats? I mean, when "it's the thought that counts," shouldn't it be a thought about something we'd actually appreciate. Then again, maybe socks are your thing. ;) @HunterShoptaw: That they are, I'm wanting some socks with an integrated HDD, and some USB connectivity. @HunterShoptaw: The thought does count, but it sure would be nice if they enjoyed the gift too. So for this year, I created wishgenies dot com for people who WANT to give good gifts, but don't know what they'll want. @keyboard-vomit: I swear that some day, some how...Google will be able to find my lost socks.

How Circuits Work" Have you ever wondered what happens when you flip a switch to turn on a light, TV, vacuum cleaner or computer? What does flipping that switch accomplish? In all of these cases, you are completing an electric circuit, allowing a current, or flow of electrons, through the wires. An electric circuit is in many ways similar to your circulatory system. Your blood vessels, arteries, veins and capillaries are like the wires in a circuit. Your heart is the pump that drives the blood circulation in the body. Take the simple case of an electric light. The diagram above shows a simple circuit of a flashlight with a battery at one end and a flashlight bulb at the other end. Circuits can be huge power systems transmitting megawatts of power over a thousand miles -- or tiny microelectronic chips containing millions of transistors. In this article, we'll learn about the two basic types of electric circuits: Power circuits transfer and control large amounts of electricity.

34 DIY headboard ideas The headboard is now looked at as a mainly decorative element in our bedrooms. As it usually happens, it all started from a practical reason/purpose.The headboard, a piece of furniture that is attached to the head of the bed, was initially an element that isolated sleepers from drafts and cold. Back then the buildings were less insulated and thus such a feature was needed. With time, this function has been lost and replaced by a purely aesthetical function. These 34 diy headboard ideas exposed here are not competing with each other, by the contrary these are the best projects we could find to show you, and all of them are equally interesting. Headboard from salvaged materials. The first project is realized from scrap materials salvaged from a burn pile. Metal headboard. This one is really simple, but ingenious. Old door headboard. A pair of reclaimed old doors add a tremendous visual weight to this dreamy bedroom. Original headboard using store signs. Indian headboard project.

Circuit Diagrams After reading this section you will be able to do the following: Explain what circuit diagrams are used for. Identify what the symbols in the circuit diagrams stand for. Circuit diagrams are a pictorial way of showing circuits. Electricians and engineers draw circuit diagrams to help them design the actual circuits. The important thing to note on this diagram is what everything stands for. This is the Ammeter symbol. This is the Voltmeter symbol. This is the resistor symbol. This is the switch symbol. This is the battery symbol. The important thing to remember about this symbol is that the long bar on top represents the positive terminal on a battery while the short bar on the bottom represents the negative terminal. Below is the actual circuit made from the circuit diagram above. In the next sub-unit you will be creating your own circuits from a circuit diagram as you learn about what series and parallel circuits are. This is the capacitor symbol. This is the symbol for the light bulb. Review

DIY fire making Circuit Symbols and Circuit Diagrams Thus far, this unit of The Physics Classroom tutorial has focused on the key ingredients of an electric circuit and upon the concepts of electric potential difference, current and resistance. Conceptual meaning of terms have been introduced and applied to simple circuits. Mathematical relationships between electrical quantities have been discussed and their use in solving problems has been modeled. Lesson 4 will focus on the means by which two or more electrical devices can be connected to form an electric circuit. Electric circuits, whether simple or complex, can be described in a variety of ways. A final means of describing an electric circuit is by use of conventional circuit symbols to provide a schematic diagram of the circuit and its components. A single cell or other power source is represented by a long and a short parallel line. is represented by a collection of long and short parallel lines. 2KW DIY Solar panels made of pop cans for home solar heating At the end, the solar absorber is painted black and placed in the diy solar panels casing. The casing is covered with plexiglass that we attach to the frame and thoroughly corked with silicone. Polycarbonate / plexiglass is slightly convex in order to gain greater strength. You can see installed solar absorber without plexiglass in picture 18. On YouTube you can see how our diy pop-can solar panels work. Important note: Our solar system is not able to accumulate thermal energy after producing it. Differential thermostat (snap disc) controls the fan. If on/off temperatures are set carefully, diy solar panels are able to produce an average 2 kW of energy for home heating. Dress rehearsal of solar collectors carried out in the backyard before installing the system on the house. After completing installation of collector, the outside temperature was -3 ° C, and from the solar collector is coming out 3 m3/min (3 cubic meters per minute) of heated air.

Services Intravenous Therapy (Vitamin C) for Cancer What is IV Therapy ? Intravenous therapy or IV Therapy is the infusion of nutrient or medicine into the vein bypassing the stomach. There are many studies that look at vitamin C and its effects on cancer in a tissue culture. One study in the Journal of the National Academy of Sciences in 2008 reported on an experiment that showed that such high intravenous levels could reduce tumor volumes by 41-53%. Precautions Intravenous therapy of high doses of vitamin C has an excellent safety record. General Information Vitamin C intravenous therapy can be utilized in conjunction with Chemotherapy and Radiation. Lab Test : There are a few lab test that needed to be done to determine patient’s eligibility to for the treatment : serum G-6-PD, kidney function test (eGFR), serum electrolyte level. Things to do before each treatment : Duration : Each treatment varies between 1-3 hours in duration IV Therapy Cancer Treatment Schedule Session 1 25 g Vitamin C

Build Your Own ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE The finished project is a 1981 Kawasaki KZ440, converted to electric. It is powered by four Optima Yellow Top sealed (AGM) lead-acid batteries, that drive a Briggs & Stratton Etek electric motor. The speed of the motor is controlled by an Alltrax brand "AXE" programmable controller that can run at up to 48 volts and 300 amps. The cycle is GEARED to 45 mph, has fairly good acceleration, no clutch or transmission. The cycle recharges from the wall, through a renewable energy program, and if there is a blackout, I can actually run my house off my electric motorcycle! In this Instructable, I'll walk you through the work required with the motor, batteries, controller, and mounting all components, including showing you some low-tech paper and cardboard "CAD" tricks. Your Project But what do you want? Give some thought to what cycle you would like to convert. If you aren't sure what to expect in terms of range per charge and top speed, don't worry, online calculators can help you out.
