Slashdot Recensioni, Guide e Notizie su Apple, Mac e Fotografia da Maurizio Natali Here Comes China’s Drone Patrols — War is Boring On most days, the Japan Self-Defense Forces scramble fighters to intercept Chinese military aircraft patrolling through what Tokyo terms its Air Defense Identification Zone, or ADIZ. But it’s not everyday Japanese aircraft intercept a Chinese drone. That’s exactly what happened this week. On Monday, Japan detected an unidentified drone flying southeast off the coast of Zhejiang, before circling the skies approximately 100 miles north of the disputed Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands and then heading back in the direction of China. It’s the first known occasion when a land-based Chinese drone has approached the Japanese ADIZ. This was the flight profile: Little is known about this obscure UAV since its unveiling in 2006, except that it was designed by the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics with Harbin Aircraft Industry Group is believed to boast an endurance of 40 hours with a service ceiling of 26,000 feet. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen: The new normal.

Restore Smart Searches to OS X Lion's Finder Sidebar The Finder sidebar has undergone quite a few changes since Snow Leopard. While we hope that OS X Lion's Finder sidebar will receive some badly needed refinements in the near future, there is no reason to wait to gain back some of the productive tools that are missing in Lion. Lion's sidebar eliminates the entire Search For group. This was a handy area in the sidebar that let you quickly find documents and applications you worked on or used today, yesterday, or during the past week. It also listed all of the images, movies, and documents stored on your Mac. Apple attempted to replace the sidebar's Search For section with a single entry in the Favorites section called All My Files. Restore Smart Searches to the Sidebar While you can't restore the old Search For sidebar section, you can get back the same functionality through the use of Smart Folders, which can be saved to the Finder's sidebar. Creating a Smart Folder From the Finder menu, select File, New Smart Folder. Yesterday Past Week
