Beyond overlaying imagery with non-specific sound - such as favourite songs or ambient music - the aim of the series is to explore a range of audio possibilities, such as discovering the actual sound a garment makes. Anechoic is a 'collections story' that uses sound instead of visuals to interpret the essence of key garments from the Autumn/Winter 2006 collections by leading fashion brands. A live recording session in a specialist recording studio - a hemi-anechoic chamber - in June 2006 was used to create a series of groundbreaking interactives that for the first time in fashion media, detail the precise sound of fashion materials such as feathers, sequins, glass crystals and beads, nylon, taffeta, leather, velvet, jacquard, zips and metallic chains.
Artists - NorthSide 2013 This summer Robyn and Röyksopp will go on a world tour together for the first time ever, and we are very proud and honoured that one of the concerts on the tour will take place at NorthSide 2014. Robyn made her breakthrough as a singer in 1997 with the single “Show Me Love”, which not only gained success in Europe, but also claimed a top ten position on the American Billboard Chart. Her success continued on the two following releases, but the release of “Robyn” in 2005 marked a significant change in style. The album is inspired by compatriots The Knife and Teddybears and is the first record released on her on label – Konichiwa Records. Robyn continued to do things as she wished, and after a five-year absence she released the three “Body Talk” EPs in 2010, which were awarded with five Swedish Grammy Awards. Meanwhile, Norwegian group Röyksopp have released four albums, had plenty of hits, recorded with Karin from The Knife and Lykke Li, and performed a large number of brilliant concerts.
