{last mintue christmas decorations} 3D paper star wreath tutorial
I had a bunch of this pretty Christmas paper left over from last year (it's Making Memories' Mistletoe line), so I decided to use it up before I didn't love it anymore. I've been meaning to make a star wreath for ages, and after seeing a friend's 3D stars lining the wall on her staircase (super cute idea, by the way), I decided to try them out. Easy and darling! 3-D Paper Star Wreath Tutorial Supplies: *Patterned papers *Scoring tool (scoring board, bone folder, or stylus) *Hot glue gun *Wreath form (I cut my own out of chipboard, but you could use a wooden one from the craft store) *Buttons, brads, and ribbon 1. 2. 3. 4. Repeat this for all stars. 5. 6. 7. 8. Hang and enjoy! These 3D stars are also great as ornaments. I also use them as gift tags.

Revamping My Picture Wall! I am in the middle of “musical rooms” at my house with the new baby on the way which also involved moving the kids playroom. I have spent the last few weeks building, revamping and painting this area. My latest project was changing up the old frame wall. I showed you guys how I fabric matted my old frames. This time around they will be getting a pop of color Fun! I am using the old frames from the wall and will also be adding a few new ones. Remove the glass and all the other goodies that come on the inside of the frame. I decided to use scrapbook paper for my backgrounds. I then used a craft knife to cut around the mat or glass of each frame. Then, I sprayed the glass with Elmer’s spray adhesive and stuck the paper down to it. Then, just put your glass back in the frame. I used a little hot glue to attach my newly red clips to the top of each frame. Then, just attach the perfect picture! I finished several for the play room wall but I have more to go. 5 kiddos means lots of frames

Six Ways to Recycle Maps - DIY Inspired Maps are so beautiful. I’ve been looking for some ways to use them because I see them everywhere (including my glove box). Just like CD’s, record albums, and books, they are becoming obsolete due to the emergence of electronics like the GPS and the internet. But what I do love about maps is that they tell a story and simultaneously serve as a work of art. Here are six great ways to recycle maps. One: Art Work Check out these heart maps by Tcktyboo. I also saw a great idea on Pintrest (I can’t find the picture or source anymore) where a map was framed and the route to a special trip was stitched in a coordinating colored string… so cute! Two: Pillow This is a pillow from Etsy inspired by a vintage map. Three: Pinwheels Another Etsy find, these cute pinwheels make a whimsical vintage wedding favor. Four: Upcycle Furniture Here are three great examples of using decoupage on maps to turn an old piece of furniture into a unique and beautiful conversation piece. Christmas CD's Don't forget my Pampered Chef and Heritage Makers Black Friday Sales. Sales are good ALL DAY LONG!!! This project was so much fun. Well, at least the finished product. I had 14 cds left. I didn't realize there were still so many. My daughter is helping me trace. After tracing, you simply cut out. I inked the edges with a dark red to match the paper and then modge podged my paper onto the cds. Now for the next step, there are several ways you can do this. After putting on the first three letters, I decided I wanted to sand the letters, so I peeled them off and sanded. I had the perfect thing to hang my "CHRISTMAS" letters on. I will be linking to

Pair it with a ruffley blouse and some skinny jeans and you’re rockin’ the librarian chic look. (Plus you’re husband won’t feel too awkward when you ask him to hold it!) Smart and fashionable. Did you vote for us? How to make a book clutch:Scour every thrift store for purses with metal frames and a books about the same size. Gut your book: (This is where I stopped taking pictures, sorry!) Now it’s off to make the project for round 2: Decoupage.

Odds and ends: pretty jars I'll admit it, I judge books by their covers. Well, at least food by their jars. I've purchased various jams and jellies, spices and spreads just because I like the jar and see myself using it again as a vase or something else. By far my favorite is the itty bitty baby food jars. I have dozens of them saved, and today I thought I'd pretty some of them up. I absolutely adore this paper I have! Spread ModPodge over the top of the lid and glue the paper down. Snip the excess paper, right up to the edge of the lid, about every half inch. Spread more ModPodge on the side of the lid and fold up the slits of paper. Apply a few more coats of Mod Podge, let it dry, and that's it! Not only are these pretty for little bits and pieces around the house, but I think they would also make a sweet little container for gifts.
