Definizione di Content Curation Curation has always been an underrated form of creation. The Getty Center in Los Angeles is one of the most frequently visited museums in America – and started as a private art collection from one man (J. Paul Getty) who had a passion for art. Aside from a few well known examples like this one, however, the term curation has rarely been used outside of the world of art … until now. One of the hottest trends in social media right now is content curation – thanks in no small part to the leading efforts of several thought leaders actively promoting the idea. Joe Pulizzi is a “content marketing evangelist” who speaks and writes often about content marketing publishes a list of the best content marketing blogs across the web.

A beautiful home for your videos. (And by “different” we mean “better.”) We put your videos first. That means no ads before, after, or on top of your videos. We make it easy. Our tools are built for everyone — no technical knowhow required. The people on Vimeo are incredible. Digital Collections and Aggregations Libraries, museums, and archives have been producing digital collections for decades, providing scholars with broad access to countless special collections. Researchers engaged in digital scholarship have also created many digital collections tailored to the interests of their particular research communities. Both kinds of collections are curated, in that they have been carefully selected and assembled for a specific purpose or audience. In the networked information environment, curated collections will become increasingly important as organizational units for the scattered and diverse mass of available digital information and for providing coherent contexts for meaningful engagement with that information. Aggregations, or collections of collections, are essential backbone resources in the evolving e-research platform that also need to be curated if they are to truly support and enhance discovery and innovation across the disciplines.

Mapping del.icio.us with Anthracite and OmniGraffle Several people have asked me how I produced the visualizations that I used in my talk on del.icio.us. While those visualizations were constructed with a rather eclectic mixture of homebrewed code, assorted applications, and a good bit of elbow grease, I decided to put together a tutorial for people who might be interested in this type of visual exploration, but are not inclined to write custom Perl code to do so. Hence, I have selected a combination of two very nice applications for Mac OS X - Anthracite and OmniGraffle - to produce similar visualizations. Neither application is free, but both have free trial periods, should you be inclined to check them out.

Web Application 1 As the web becomes more and more inundated with blogs, videos, tweets, status updates, news, articles, and countless other forms of content, “information overload” is something we all seem to suffer. It is becoming more difficult to weed through all the “stuff” out there and pluck out the best, most share-worthy tidbits of information, especially if your topic is niche. Let’s face it, Google definitely has its shortcomings when it comes to content curation and the more it tries to cater to all audiences, the less useful it becomes. Screen Capture Software for Windows, Mac, and Chrome Context is everything. Recording a video lets the person on the other end actually hear your voice. So the next time a webpage, PDF, or video edit is sent to you for feedback, consider dropping the red pen and record a video instead. With Snagit, there’s no waiting.
