Printing comments in margins Because a fellow RedHat employee requested it on Friday, LibreOffice Writer 4.3 will be able to print comments in the margin effectively as they appear on screen, which should take care of the old fdo#36815 feature request. There is now an additional "place comments in margin" option in the print dialog (and writer print options). On screen the comments are placed outside the real page area, so to actually get them onto the paper when printing, the contents of the page needs to be scaled down by approximately 75% of its original size to make space to fit the comments in. Here's the additional comment place option in the print dialog Here's some sample pdf output

Self Authoring How it works The Future Authoring Program is designed to help you imagine your ideal future, three to five years down the road. What would your life be like if you could set it up in the manner that would be best for you? You will be asked to consider the people you admire, things you could do better, your educational and career goals, what habits you would like to improve, your family life, your social network, and your leisure activities. Then you will be asked to write freely, without regard for grammar or spelling, for 15-20 minutes, on a page like this one.

Calculate Linear Regression and Graph Scatter Plot and Line of Best Fit What is simple linear regression? Simple linear regression is a way to describe a relationship between two variables through an equation of a straight line, called line of best fit, that most closely models this relationship. A common form of a linear equation in the two variables x and y isy=mx+b where m and b designate constants. The origin of the name "e;linear"e; comes from the fact that the set of solutions of such an equation forms a straight line in the plane. Quotes About Studying “Study, along the lines which the theologies have mapped, will never lead us to discovery of the fundamental facts of our existence. That goal must be attained by means of exact science and can only be achieved by such means. The fact that man, for ages, has superstitiously believed in what he calls a God does not prove at all that his theory has been right.

Evernote, OneNote, and Beyond: The 12 Best Note-Taking Apps Ever feel like you’re struggling to remember everything? You're not the only one—and that's why it's so important to take notes. As author Tim Ferriss says, “I trust the weakest pen more than the strongest memory.” Write something down, and you're certain to remember it. There are plenty of ways to take notes. You could carry a notebook and pen in your pocket, or scribble thoughts on a napkin at lunch. Five Best Distraction-Free Writing Tools Seems like all five choices are basically the same app with different names. Kind of a disappointing hive five, not that that's Lifehacker's fault. It just means there isn't much variety in this category, I guess. My vote was for LyX, and I'll re-post what I wrote in the original vote: "Fullscreen mode is extremely minimal, and even the normal view keeps things out of the way. I like it because I don't have to make a compromise between features and focus: formatting is separated from content creation, so you can still make presentable documents without having to use a separate app or deal with niggling formatting problems as you write."

Comic Creator The Comic Creator invites students to compose their own comic strips for a variety of contexts (prewriting, pre- and postreading activities, response to literature, and so on). The organizers focus on the key elements of comic strips by allowing students to choose backgrounds, characters, and props, as well as to compose related dialogue (shown at left). This versatile tool can be used by students from kindergarten through high school, for purposes ranging from learning to write dialogue to an in-depth study of a formerly neglected genre.

untitled The GNU operating system is a complete free software system, upward-compatible with Unix. GNU stands for “GNU's Not Unix”. Richard Stallman made the Initial Announcement of the GNU Project in September 1983. A longer version called the GNU Manifesto was published in March 1985. It has been translated into several other languages. The name “GNU” was chosen because it met a few requirements; first, it was a recursive acronym for “GNU's Not Unix”, second, because it was a real word, and third, it was fun to say (or Sing).
