Again: Relevance, why Twitter? SmartBlogs
Twitter has been a topic for educational bloggers for several years now. I believe that those educators using Twitter are drawn to those posts, while other educators, not using Twitter, are driven away. Maybe the problem is the emphasis or focus of the blog posts. Maybe the focus should be on relevance and not mention of Twitter. Are educators relevant in our technology-driven society?

Twitter Introduces Lead Generation 'Cards' to Collect Leads From Tweets
Hold on to your hats, marketers, because we’ve got some exciting news that’s going to transform the way you use Twitter Ads. A little background first: back in June, Twitter rolled out Twitter Cards, their name for the multimedia you sometimes see in expanded tweets on Twitter.com, Android, and iOS applications. Fast forward to today: Twitter released the Lead Generation Card, a new type of Twitter Card that will allow marketers to collect leads directly within the tweet. Users don’t even have to fill out a form -- their information (Name, email, and username) is already pulled into the card. They literally just have to hit "Submit" on the Card's call-to-action. The Lead Generation Card is exclusively available as a feature of Promoted Tweets (a paid feature of Twitter Ads).

How To Be Contagious on Twitter
Social media is going through a transition period as some social networks struggle to survive and others grow so fast it makes your nose bleed. Google+ has stirred the pot and is acquiring new customers as quickly as an umbrella shop during a rain storm. Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that Facebook is facing saturation point in developed countries with adoption in the US now over 90% and growth rates slowing, but in developing countries Facebook continues to grow at significant rates. Twitter the Enigma Twitter is still an enigma and if you talk to a college class and ask them how many are on Twitter and what Twitter is about you will see barely a hand raised and stunned silence. Despite this lack of adoption by the younger generation Twitter goes quietly about its simple 140 character business while still keeping its 200 million users happy and keeping its brand top of mind in the media by breaking news stories almost every day on its platform in real time.
Using Twitter for Teachers' Professional Development
I am actually engaged in an extensive review of the literature written on the use of Twitter as a Personal Learning Network ( PLN ).Twitter is the core topic of my MAEd thesis and I am trying to approach it from different perspectives : academic, social, and even personal ( for professional development ). Academically speaking, papers investigating the use of Twitter in the world of academia are still scarce and the empirical research done in this field is still very limited. From time to time I feature some of the resources I am actually reading and which I know will be of great interest to my readers here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning. For instance, today I am sharing with you a treasure trove ( I really mean it ) of Twitter lists to subscribe with and follow to stay updated about the latest news, resources, links, researches, and many more according to your area of interest.
