Taking a closer look at Europe's renewable energy plans for 2020 - News — EEA Member States are obliged to submit National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs) to the European Commission, outlining how they expect to meet their 2020 renewable target, including the technology mix they intend to use and the trajectory they will follow. So far, 19 countries have submitted this information: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Payments for environmental services and market-based instruments: next of kin or false friends? Working Papers N°14/2013. Points clés [en anglais] : The emergence of market-based instruments (MBIs) in the field of ecosystem services has been spectacular but still lacks a clear conceptualization. Terms are overused and abused in discourses, and contrasted policy instruments are referred to as market-oriented albeit with few characteristics in common. We argue that MBIs, including PES, as a term encompasses too large an ensemble of policy instruments.

TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® Coating Systems represent a revolutionary concept in exterior wall coatings. Specially formulated to reflect the sun’s heat, they can lower exterior wall surface temperatures by as much as 40 degrees when compared to traditional paints in many colors. Lower exterior temperatures mean lower interior temperatures. A study conducted by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory showed that TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® can reduce a home’s cooling costs by as much as 21.9%*! *Percentage of cooling cost, peak cooling load, and surface temperature reductions will vary based on color chosen, geographical location, climate condition, and substrate type.
