Mode- Avec vanessa BEECROFT

Kitchen Helpers I found these helpful charts last week and just had to share! Both of these beauties are from Chasing Delicious (aka one of the most fab foodie blogs out there)! Aren’t they faaaaabulous?! I love tea, but I’m no expert. For people of the UK, have this one with you while you’re meal planning or grocery shopping! I’ve fond some other helpful charts that I’ll share in another post! Yay charts!

The Style Collective: Recycled: Robert Rauschenberg at the Gagosian Wednesday, March 7, 2012 Recycled: Robert Rauschenberg at the Gagosian From time to time I will recycle old posts that have gotten the most hits. Artist's on our blog heavily outweigh the style section and I'm pleased that my favorite artist Robert Rauschenberg has received the most views. This is a blog entry from November of 2010, when we took a short time to live with the family in NYC and soak up all the amazing exhibits. If I had to leave New York after just a few days and have seen only this exhibit with my daughters, I would be happy. Netherlands book week - Inspirational Graphic Design A little good advice never hurt anyone. If you’re looking for a few tips on how to improve your graphic design business or just a little insight into how others do things, 100 habits of successful graphic designers is worth a read. On to a few quotes from the book… Keep in touch with your clients, past and present. Every business has competitors and you want clients to think of you first. Do an extra-good job on tiny projects. Small projects are often treated as churn and burn jobs, but every business starts small. Spend time with your client to build consensus and create shared goals. It’s understandable that clients are excited and designers are eager to begin a new project, but you can never have too much information. Don’t stop at just a written brief, have a few conversations. Seek out creative clients for successful collaborations. Although good graphic design is about what works, and not personal tastes and preferences, they sometimes can’t be avoided with some clients.

Jonathan Yeo Is the King of Political Cock Art It's the general consensus that the majority of politicians are dickheads. Perhaps they were born good, moral, decent people, but as soon as the ties and trouser-suits come on and the verbal bullshit starts spilling out, large, flaccid penises begin to sprout from their foreheads, growing ever harder as they descend further into their own mucky web of nonsensical policies and broken promises. Why it's taken so long for someone to capitalise on that and make political portraits out of actual dicks, I have no idea, but finally someone has. That someone is British artist Jonathan Yeo, who came up in the art game painting photo-realistic portraits of the rich and famous, before eventually attracting the attention of the Bush administration and forging his niche in the world of political-porno artwork. Seeing as I spent a lot of time scrawling cocks on school property, Jonathan's a bit of a personal hero of mine, so I rang him up for a chat. Haha. Cliff Richard and Mary Whitehouse. More porn:

about brainpickings.org Hey there. My name is Maria Popova and I’m a reader, writer, interestingness hunter-gatherer, and curious mind at large. I’ve previously written for Wired UK, The Atlantic, The New York Times, and Harvard’s Nieman Journalism Lab, among others, and am an MIT Futures of Entertainment Fellow. Maria Popova. Brain Pickings is my one-woman labor of love — a subjective lens on what matters in the world and why. Founded in 2006 as a weekly email that went out to seven friends and eventually brought online, the site was included in the Library of Congress permanent web archive in 2012. Here’s a little bit about my seven most important learnings from the journey so far. I think of it as LEGOs — if the bricks we have are of only one shape, size, and color, we can build things, but there’s a limit to how imaginative and interesting they will be. Please enjoy. For more on the ethos behind this labor of love, here is my On Being conversation with the wonderful and generous Krista Tippett:
