Beautiful Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Wreath & The Inspiration Behind It All Steelmom While watching videos for the new Kraft Cooking Creme, at the Real Women of Philadelphia, I came across this recipe I found so intriguing. The RWoPer that inspired me to make this wreath is known as "Steelmom". For me, her nickname has always been perfect for her, since she is someone I admire for being a hard working mother inside and outside of the home. She must be made of steel to do all that she does, working full time as a sales representative for a steel mill, raising a family, and not to mention creating the most beautiful hand painted ornaments.

Cider Spiced Applesauce (Gluten-Free & Vegan) I can’t even begin to calculate how much money I spend on applesauce around here. For the past few years my kids have been obsessed with Trader Joe’s Apple Crushers, they have 4 flavors, are gluten-free, portable and according to my daughter “The yummiest snack on earth!” Although I love Trader Joe’s and the convenience of all of their delectable gluten-free goodies I still would rather have a homemade version around for when we aren’t on the run. Yesterday was my first attempt at this cider spiced applesauce and it was so yummy that we ate the entire batch before it had time to cool. Eliza liked it so much that she has requested another big batch of applesauce that will last long enough for her to take it to school in lieu of her beloved apple crusher!

Egg Salad - A healthy recipe to serve in a sandwich or a tomato flower Here's my healthy makeover of egg salad. Traditionally, it has lots of mayonnaise and is high in fat and calories. I've substituted Greek yogurt for most of the mayo; and honestly, I like the taste better. This recipe has all of the protein and nutrition of eggs combined with high protein, low fat yogurt. It's hard to believe something this creamy is really good for you. Fresh dill gives it great flavor, too.

s Kitchen: Oven-Baked Eggplant Fries I love fried eggplant fries, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for the calories OR the hassle that comes with deep frying... this oven-baked version is the next best thing! Oven-Baked Eggplant Fries Pizza Puffs We just finished dinner and I'm snuggled up in my favorite chair with the laptop on my...well, lap. I am listening to Family Guy reruns in the background and waiting for 9pm to strike so I can meet my friend at the bookstore for coffee and chit chat. Sounds ideal huh? Minus the obnoxious cartoon in the background. ha!

A Two Bite Breakfast: Bacon & Eggs in Toast Cups * Updated post from archive: Originally posted March 29, 2009 If you where to ask me what is my favorite meal of the day without a thought my response would be breakfast! I love breakfast! I love brunch! Food, Travel, Lifestyle, Hunting and Redefining Slow Food Fruit roll-ups were a big thing when I was growing up. There were so many iterations at one point that I was in pure fruit candy bliss. Then there were the healthy versions that we’d always find at the health food store. They were called “fruit leather,” because they were thicker and made out of pure fruit I suppose… not the other nasty bits that were probably in the fruit roll-ups. My editor told me that they needed a few more recipes for my book Food Heroes a little while ago for “layout” reasons.
