Welcome to New World Library Berton House Writers' Retreat Berton House Writers’ Retreat In addition to offering a unique escape from intruding distractions on a writer’s day, Berton House is also an historical destination with special roots in Canadian history as Pierre Berton's childhood home. Professional Canadian writers who have published at least one book and are established in any creative literary discipline (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, play/screenwriting, journalism) may apply for a three-month residency.
