Vegan quick and easy recipes for a long and healthy life Andrea's Easy Vegan Cooking An Easy Tomato Cream Pasta with only 10 Ingredients Creamy tomato sauces are a weakness of mine. I love the silkiness that comes from the cheese and cream, and indulge in the slight acidity that comes from the tomatoes. As I’ve already admitted, my husband loves himself some great saucy noodles, so when I found this recipe, I had to give it a shot. There’s no way a recipe for something so good should be so easy, right? Wrong. I have to say: this is a simple, fast, delicious recipe that can be made in the middle of the week, and leave you plenty of time for relaxing and patting your full belly. Ingredients 2 tablespoons oil of your choice 2 tablespoons butter ½ medium onion, finely diced 4 cloves garlic, minced 2 cans (15 ounce each) crushed or cubed tomatoes Salt and pepper, to taste Dash of sugar 1 cup heavy cream ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese 1-1/2 pound pasta of your choice Instructions Cook the pasta of your choice according to package directions. Food, Photo | Henk Wildschut Few subjects generate as much discussion as the subject of food. Such discussion is increasingly marked by suspicion and pessimism about how our food is produced. Two years ago, when I was asked to make an in-depth study of the subject of Food for de RijksMuseum in Amsterdam. I was full of preconceptions about the food industry. I saw it as dishonest, unhealthy and unethical. After two years of research and photography I realized that the discourse on food production can be infinitely refined and that this often puts supposed advantages and disadvantages in a new light. What do you do with tofu? - Cooking for Vegans What do you do with tofu? Tofu used to belong to a common vegan stereotype, along with lentils and sandals. That's not why I've devoted a whole page to it. Tofu is made from soya beans and generally comes in blocks. If it just says 'tofu' on the pack, chances are it's firm tofu. There are also flavoured varieties of firm tofu, Cauldron do some nice smoked varieties and you can also get tofu flavoured with basil or other herbs. If you haven't tried it before, I recommend trying a tofu dish in a good restaurant to give you an idea of what it's supposed to taste like. (An example of) How to prepare firm tofu Firm tofu usually comes in packets surrounded in water. If using plain tofu, marinate in something interesting, or if you haven't got time just add something interesting to it while it's cooking. Cook it. Gingerbread Ice Cream! | FreshVeggies Ginger Bread Ice Cream (with Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe) Homemade Ice Cream – No, good homemade vegan ice cream is hard to perfect. I, with many other vegans who desire the delicious taste of ice cream without the cruelty, misery, have gone through too many failed ice cream recipes. Your Vegan Mom You guys, the broccoli we talked about? It's not ready yet. It cooks a long time In the meantime, let's talk about birthdays. In Desmond's cake from last fall (seven layers!) And last summer, Felix's pumpkin pancakes were held together by yogurt frosting (soy yogurt + raw cashews + maple syrup -> Blend until smooth.) For Grandma, we made multigrain pancakes with layers of lightly sweetened yogurt and berries. To turn our basic pancake recipe multigrain, I used a cup of whole spelt flour, 1/4 cup of cornmeal, 1/2 cup of all purpose, and 1 cup of oats in place of the 2 cups of flour called for. I love birthdays and pancakes and watching my boys snuggled up against their grandma at breakfast. It's been a good day. *(Also, I'm not 100% happy with the recipe yet.

Prepping a beer cooler for low-temp cooking [Photographs: J. There is not a Michelin-starred chef who would part easily with their Polyscience circulators. But the question of when this technique will trickle down to home users—and it certainly is a question of when, and not if—remains to be answered. The Sous-Vide Supreme, introduced last winter, and of which I am a big fan, is certainly a big step in the right direction. a beer cooler is just as good at keeping hot things hot as it is at keeping cold things cold Here's how it works: A beer cooler is designed to keep things cool. 1.
