Monkey Business: Pet Goes Bananas After Escape From Home A pet monkey wreaked havoc on a Miami-Dade neighborhood Tuesday night, biting one person and leading authorities on a rooftop chase after it got loose from its Kendall home. The incident happened near Southwest 134th Avenue and 52nd Street when the monkey escaped and went after a neighbor inside a nearby house, biting him in the ear. After the monkey fled the neighbor's house, it made its way onto a roof, where wildlife officials and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue worked to coax it down. The monkey, a capuchin, was eventually captured and taken to a rehabilitation center in Homestead. Resident Antonio Nunez said he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the monkey running around the neighborhood.
