Ten Anime Series You Should See Before You Die First off I’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that read my list of ten anime films you should see before you die—the response has been phenomenal—not just the number of people who read it, but also those who took the time out to get involved in the following discussion. Some people loved my selections, some people thought I was well off the mark, but it was clear that there was no way I was going to be able to avoid putting together another list, this time of TV series. It has been a far harder list to compile. Not only because of the vast selection to choose from, but also because I knew from the start that I would be leaving out some shows that a lot of people hold very dear. As such, I hope that at least some of you will read the next paragraph first before scrolling down the list to see what is missing and getting upset. Cowboy Bebop (1998) - 26 episodes Paranoia Agent (2004) - 13 episodes Gunslinger Girl (2003) - 13 episodes Future Boy Conan (1978) - 26 episodes

Nerd Blerp - 10 Great Horror Films You've Never Seen Being a fan of all things horror, I thought it high-time I showed some love for the genre on this site. Horror films are great because they appeal to our most base natures, but also because they are allowed to be as loopy and imaginative as they want...well, at lest they used to be. These days, imagination has been replaced by lots of gore and cheap 'jump-out-of-your-seat' shocks. Horror films no longer follow you home and haunt your dreams in the stillness of the night. So, here are ten great horror films that you've never seen before (I hope). They will provide you with a much needed antidote to the teeny-bopper and remake hell that we are stuck in today. 10. This twisted gem from the eighties owes a lot to Freddy Krueger, but is also original and creepy in its own way. 9. This Finnish horror film moves at a delibarately slow pace, but is unsettling as all hell. 8. Q really feels more like two films. 7. 6. 13 Tzameti 5. Ha. 4. 3. 2. 1.

The Best Horror Movies of 2011 [The Top 10 Released and Top 5 Unreleased] 2011 was a really shitty year for horror. There’s no reason to dance around it; it just sucked. Sure, some good movies managed to find release, but not nearly enough. You know it’s been a bad 12 months of genre when it’s a struggle to assemble a Top 10 filled with films that leave any kind of a significant mark– and even then, several are just unreleased films from 2010. But such is the genre these days… The Best Horror Movies of 2011 10. The latest from May director Lucky McKee isn’t for everyone. 9. I’ve taken a lot of flak for defending the hell out of Fright Night, but I’ll take everything the haters have got if it means at least one more person gives this smart, unique remake a shot. 8. Seconds Apart is the most interesting flick After Dark Horror films has ever been involved with. 7. 6. Jee-woon Kim’s I Saw the Devil is one of the most brutal movies you’ll see this or any year. 5. It’s a shame that Undocumented didn’t become the hit it deserved. 4. 3. 2. 1. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. 5. 4. 3.

The Ten Best Horror Movies You Haven’t Seen | October means Halloween, and Halloween means horror, and horror? Well that means some damn good movies. I presume many of you are searching for a good horror flick to curl up with this month, and while I will advise you to first consult my 10 Best Horror Films of Decade list, I thought I’d compile a new one made up of films that aren’t quite as widely known. Yes, I love The Ring, The Orphanage and The Descent, but there are smaller, more niche movies that are deserving of your attention, and really, once you’ve been scared or grossed out once, it’s not quite the same if you watch the same film again. Here are some new titles that some of you may have seen, but I predict most of you will have not. 10. If you’re not in love with Amber Heard yet, watch Drive Angry, Zombieland or better yet, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. It’s a fairly straightforward slasher film, but with a few clever twists thrown in, it stands out over similar films. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Bonus: Tucker and Dale vs.

The 15 Best Miramax Films Today, the indie world and the film world at large lost a giant in the field, watching Disney close the doors and turn the lights off on Miramax. As sad a day like today is, and as uncertain as the future is, we can still hold on to the memories. Most of them are now on Blu-ray. Or at least Laser Disc (because we all own one). Without further tears in our eyes, we’d like to remember Miramax for their 15 Best Films. If you’re like me and Rob Hunter, your rental queue is already full. 15. The Pitch: Even if Rob Hunter doesn’t think Larry Clark’s harsh film about drug and sexual abandon amongst the youth in NYC is well acted, he’s wrong, and the movie is brilliant and challenging. 14. The Pitch: You probably haven’t seen this odd and creepy little flick, but if you have consider yourself one of the lucky few. 13. The Pitch: This film is mostly known for its twist, which is a shame, because the entire film is a thing of beauty. 12. 11.
