Vintage Wanna Bee: HOW TO MAKE A FB TIMELINE COVER... So, you know how facebook is always super annoying and changes their layout constantly? You know the new "timeline layout"... Did you further know that I sorta like the new layout? I know crazy right. Well, I decided to make my own custom "Timeline Cover" and thought I would share with you what I did! Take a look! So, here's a step by step of how to make your own, you will need, facebook, pictures, a photo-editing site, (I used picnik.) Now, let's get started... First you will need to pick out a "collage" setting you would like. Do you like how you can see what I was doing before... After you pick your design, add pictures. The far right is me with my Grandpa. After that, I slighly changed the levels to get the overall look that I wanted. If you feel like it, you can add a little text to your picture. Now, save your photo so you can upload to facebook... Isn't it purty? Now. upload to facebook... And reposition your photo, you won't see all of it, so keep that in mind when you're editing.
Yet Another Alcohol Stove Alcohol stoves are inexpensive, lightweight alternatives to commercial backpacking stoves. They are used primarily for boiling water to rehydrate dehydrated meals. If your camp cooking is more complicated than that, or if you need to cook for more than 1 person, this stove may not be for you. In my quest for the perfect alcohol stove, I have experimented with several designs. The Yaas stove works on the same principle as the Cat stove and the Pika Stove. Brian Robinson, whose father designed the Cat stove, explains why chimney style alcohol stoves, such as the Cat stove and Yaas stove, work better than pressurized alcohol stoves. The vent holes in my Cat stove are too large, causing the Cat stove to leak fuel if a full ounce of fuel is poured into it. Generally the vowels go above the consonants, but sometimes, in the case of Y and silent E, they go below. The straight line underneath is just one way to make one character do the work of two. The line above a consonant means that a nasal N or M precedes the consonant in question. Here's one last example with two different letter combinations. THOUGHT PATTERNS: Kaleidoscope of Colors I've always leaned towards browns, blacks, creams and earthy colors in home decoration, that's the boring in me. But, I don't know, I'm kind of starting to like bright colors more. Kaleidoscope kind of colors, like turquoise, fuchsia, pink, aqua, violet, yellow, orange... all combined together. I admit that could be a bit retina-searing sometimes, but if expertly put together... it looks something like this... I am absolutely in love with the "Jester" sofa, and the paper lanterns. Even the fruit matches! Wonderful chair covers. And chest and bed covers! I don''t think we've had enough fuchsia and pink yet, so here is more. Striking! Love this blue combined with brown. A total fairy tale. Outdoors too? And on a completely unrelated note... How about this lunch box? Van Gogh's Paintings Get Tilt-Shifted (12 pics) After seeing how tilt-shift photography could make real world scenes appear like miniature models, Serena Malyon, a third-year art student, decided to simulate the effect on Van Gogh's famous paintings. Using Photoshop, she manipulated the light and adjusted the focus to make us see these paintings in ways we could have never imagined. Amazingly, nothing in these paintings was changed, added or removed. The incredible illusions are all created by the magic of Photoshop. Update: Recently, I was able to get in touch with Serena to ask her how she came up with this idea. How did the idea come about to tilt-shift Van Gogh's paintings? Were you surprised by the reaction it received? Why did you choose Van Gogh's paintings to tilt-shift? His work was also really interesting because his paintings include a number of interesting details that we could focus in on and make that the centerpiece of the painting.
