Hey Look - Event styling, design inspiration, DIY ideas and more: PRETTY...
I think my favorite part of gift-giving is wrapping the goods. I really don't mind if the wrapping paper is being ripped off afterwards, I simply enjoy spending a lot of time and thought on making a present look as pretty as possible. Here's some cute and creative gift wrapping inspiration I found around the web: Washi tape ideas: Sweet Paul (left) and Tea For Joy (right) Lace gift wrapping: Sweet Paul, Colorful fabric packaging: Handmade Weddings (via Haystack Needle) Simple glitter ribbon on craft paper (Besotted Brand) & Colorful woven paper (Craftzine) Pretty doily wrapping - left: Facil Y Sencillo, right: A Creative Mint Confetti on double-sided tape: 3@12, Confetti dipping fun: Tokketok Left: rainbow yarn on craft paper (via babble), right: bunting, pom garlands and yarn (two shades of pink) Left: great idea for wrapping a cookbook (Sweet Paul), right: signature gift packaging by Inhaus Press

iPhone Docks Made From Beautiful Vintage Books Photos by Rich and Brenna Neeley For Apple product users, the style is minimalist and modern, right? But what if you love both your iPhone, and all things vintage? What if you love both your minimalist iPhone, and the clutter of old, beautiful books on your desk? Well, there's an iPhone dock that will give you both. Rich and Brenna Neeley -- aka Inbook on Etsy -- make iPhone charging docks out of books.

Gift Wrapping Ideas Last night I was wrapping up my gift for the Cold Hands, Warm Hearts gift swap by Much Love, Illy and SandyALaMode, and I realized something. I may be "crafty" but I am sort of awful at wrapping presents. I rip the paper when I'm cutting it. I end up with way too much paper, which results in messy folds. Magic Boxes: A Life As Lou Online Class Due to popular demand, I am doing a tutorial on the Magic Boxes I showed off in some previous posts. To begin, choose your paper. You need six sheets of matching paper (preferably a heavier weight). Choose one for your outside, budgeting for a contrasting one for your lid, and 4 to create the inside boxes.

How to make an easy and stylish paint chip mobile for your nursery Supplies: Wooden knitting ring Assorted paint chip samples in colors of your choosing Spray adhesive (optional) Circle punch Sewing machine Tape Punch out piles of circles from your paint chips samples. I had about 20 circles in each of the 5 colors. Paint chips are one-sided so you’ll have to either glue two together or sew them together when you’re making your strings of circles. Sewing them together when you’re making your strings of colors proved to make more sense to me. How To Make A Stylish Photo Frame For Several Photos Here is a simple yet stylish photo frame that can accomodate quite many photos at once. The idea is very simple. Fasten twines on the empty frame and hang photos using clothes pins on them. You can use a frame you bought or a frame you made by yourself. To make it you just need to find some wood strips, sand them, paint or stain them and fasten together with the staples and nails. Yes, everything is as simple as it sounds.

DIY Clean eyes! - StumbleUpon Eye make-up remover is so darn expensive! Here is a quick and cheap DIY Eye Make-up Remover recipe. If you have kids, you’ll have the materials! If you don’t… and you have to buy ingredients, well, you’ll spend less than 3 dollars! And get at least 30 bottles of remover. Ingredients: 1 C water 1½ TBSP Baby Shampoo (tear free) ⅛ TSP Baby Oil (Cocunut Oil or Olive Oil) EDIT! Paint Chip Gift Tags I'm always looking for clever crafts, that can be done easily and inexpensively. These paint chip gift tags fit the bill perfectly. So many companies are making bigger paint chips now that you can use them for quite a bit without people even realizing it is a paint chip sample! The best part: the cost! I happened to have a bunch of paint chips laying around from several painting projects, but if you don't just go to a local hardware or paint supply store and select the colors you wish to use, they are free* (I recommend asking if you may take some if you do not plan on buying any paint). If you fall in love with a color, there are often small sample size paints you can buy for a larger project as well (I recently found a recipe online to mix your own chalkboard paint-- once I finish my project I'll be sharing that with you as well!).

Paper Wheel Candy Greetings Sep 17 by Amy Moss In the midst of an ongoing addiction to all things sugary and sweet, I designed these delightfully twee candy-shaped paper wheel greeting cards. A pretty eye-candy substitute while I attempt to kick this oh-so-nasty habit. Besides, who wouldn’t love receiving Candy? Even it’s only made out of paper! How to Turn Old Magazines into a Bookshelf The magazines you’ve read through can be turned into extra storage space for the home in a few easy steps. Magazines can be thick, but individually, the floppy, thin pages seem like the last material you would use to build a sturdy bookshelf. To everyone’s surprise, Sean Miller did the unthinkable and crafted a bookshelf from 80 National Geographic magazines and was named one of 23 finalists in Inhabitat’s Spring Greening Contest . Sean Miller's award-winning design. Image via Inhabitat When magazines start piling up, it’s hard to part with them.

Circle Zip Earbud Pouch Tutorial I use a little zippered pouch to carry around my earbuds since they are the fancy microphone ones and I don’t want them to break or get tangled. Some of you have commented that you are looking for some small, simple gift ideas. This is definitely simple to make, and a little more fun than the typical rectangular zippered pouch! I can see these as the perfect gift for teenage cousins or nieces or girlfriends or even teacher gifts. Fun, quick, and cute!
