Postmodern Christianity Postmodern Christianity are various forms of Christianity which have been influenced by postmodern philosophy. Although a relatively recent development within Christianity, some Christian postmodernists assert that their style of thought has an affinity with foundational Christian thinkers such as Augustine of Hippo and Thomas Aquinas, and famed Christian mystics such as Meister Eckhart and Angelus Silesius. In addition to Christian theology, postmodern Christianity has its roots in post-Heideggerian continental philosophy, developed ca. 1960s to present. Despite the name some people eschew the label "postmodern Christianity" because the meaning of the term "postmodern" is frequently debated, even between those who use the label. Therefore some say it has almost no determinate meaning and, in the United States, serves largely to symbolize an emotionally charged battle of ideologies. Liberal Christianity[edit] Despite its name, liberal Christianity has always been thoroughly protean.

Evolutionary Christianity || Coming Home: An Integral Christian Practicum The other day I received the following email from David Riordan, announcing a 12-week online practicum lead by Leslie Flood Hershberger. I suspect that this will be of interest to quite a few who participated in The Advent of Evolutionary Christianity teleseries, especially (but not limited to) those who have found Integral Theory helpful or inspiring. I’ve met Leslie and she’s wonderful. Dear Friends, Have you noticed the excitement around Integral Christianity lately? When we released The Future of Christianity two years ago, it struck a chord right at the leading edge of spiritual practice. As we’ve sat with these questions the last few years, our growing curiosity’s made it clear: we’re just at the beginning of a very important conversation. This is why I’m so thrilled to introduce you to Leslie Hershberger. Please take a look at the attached video clip where Leslie and I talk about the deep need that compelled her to create this course.

Labyrinth In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth (Greek λαβύρινθος labyrinthos,[1]) was an elaborate structure designed and built by the legendary artificer Daedalus for King Minos of Crete at Knossos. Its function was to hold the Minotaur eventually killed by the hero Theseus. Daedalus had so cunningly made the Labyrinth that he could barely escape it after he built it.[2] In colloquial English, labyrinth is generally synonymous with maze, but many contemporary scholars observe a distinction between the two: maze refers to a complex branching (multicursal) puzzle with choices of path and direction; while a single-path (unicursal) labyrinth has only a single path to the center. A labyrinth in this sense has an unambiguous route to the center and back and is not difficult to navigate.[3] Labyrinths appeared as designs on pottery or basketry, as body art, and in etchings on walls of caves or churches. Ancient labyrinths[edit] 'Labrys' was a cult-word introduced from Anatolia. Cretan labyrinth[edit]

How I Can Afford My Life Of Constant Travel I’m confused. I’m simply confused as to how it’s possible that I have so far failed to properly explain how I’ve managed to travel/live/work abroad nonstop for 12 years straight (and counting). The questions are still pouring in every single day: How do you do it? How is it possible to travel for so long? Where does the money come from? And while I thoroughly enjoy communicating with readers (I’m being completely serious and encourage you all to continue sending your emails to me as often as you wish), the fact that these very questions are on the minds of so many of you out there has led me to believe that I need to do a better job at providing the answers. While it’s true that I’ve already written plenty of posts on the matter, clearly all of these posts, even as one collective entity, still fall well short of proving that a life of travel is not some crazy fantasy but a perfectly reasonable and easily attainable lifestyle option instead. So what am I to do? December 25, 1999: March 2000

World-Wide Labyrinth Locator - Welcome Labyrinth - Theory Theology is talk about God. This means the Labyrinth is theological, because it has plenty to say about God. Creation, the Trinity, the Incarnation, relationships, journey, redemption, transcendence and immanence, encountering God, being transformed - these are some of the themes incorporated into the meditations. There is nothing unorthodox or surprising here. But rather than explaining these themes in a rational and didactic way, the language used and the whole labyrinth experience are full of imagination, artistic endeavour, images, symbols and metaphors that are evocative of the Holy, but retain some sense of mystery, that God cannot be fully explained. The labyrinth is a fusion of the ancient and the (post)modern, of prayer, contemplation, encounter and self-discovery. There are two underlying themes to the Labyrinth: journey and relationship. The inward journey - 'letting go' or sheddingThe middle of the labyrinth - 'centering'The outward journey - 'incarnation'
