We get a lot of emails asking how to use brushes correctly so I hope this helps you out a little! A brow brush is designed to be stiff and angled for a reason. And we use the slanted edge to shade and the tip of the edge to outline. Put those components together and a brow brush is quite frankly a thing of perfection! Here’s how to use it properly: READ MORE… Last week we explored four different ways to wear Spring’s biggest Cobalt blue trend. This method has been around for centuries! A nod to the Uptown Girl, this look is very put together and polished. What I miss from 135lbs ago…Part 3
Read part 1 here and part 2 here What’s the moral here? What’s the matter with missing 135lbs? With letting every one of them go completely and asking, gently, that they never come back? The matter is that, fat or thin, big or bitty, I’ll always be both. Each is valuable. When you’re big for twenty years, the only twenty you’ve ever known, you’ll kindly not frown upon two decades. Hear me. Beautiful. I hear accounts of those who’ve lost a tremendous amount of weight. I don’t think back on my past and want to redo it. Yes, I know now that with 135 extra pounds, something more was wrong than my weight. Some of the weight was happy and as well rounded as it came across. Some of it meant that I developed a personality first. A sense of humor before a sense of entitlement. Empathy before ego. Some of the weight meant that I didn’t care about myself. I found spirit. I cared deeply about the way people perceived me. Maybe my present is more precious. The thing is, it’s easy to find the bad.
MADE: TUTORIAL: the Circle Skirt - StumbleUpon
I used to think that a gathered skirt was the easiest skirt to sew. But I may have changed my tune. A circle skirt is possibly even easier!….especially if you leave the elastic exposed. If you’ve ever made a poodle skirt before, it’s the same concept. Once you’ve created your pattern, you can whip up 4 skirts in an hour! Okay, let’s get started. What you need (for a little girl’s skirt): * about 1 yard of fabric* appx 3/4 yard of 2-inch wide elastic FABRICS to use:* Rayon* Polyester Charmuese* Simple Cotton* Thin Corduroy* Lightweight WoolMany fabrics will work for this project. ELASTIC:Wide elastic from fabric stores typically comes 2 inches or 3 inches wide; white or black in color. If you’d like to add a colorful twist to your skirt, check out our easy Tutorial for Dyeing Elastic HERE. Measure around your waist. PATTERN:This requires a bit of geometry but don’t worry, we’ll break it down for you. You need to figure out the radius so you can easily draw a circle. draw another 1/4 circle:

DIY Bookshelves...made with Books!
You gotta love Real Simple for all of their easy, breezy DIY projects and organization tips! All you need to complete this clever little project are some old books (pretty ones are a plus!), some hardware and a drill. I love the colorful books they used and all of the interesting "found" objects neatly displayed. Find some cloth or leather-bound books with beautiful spines that will work well together as a grouping. Buy two sets of brackets, using one set for below the books and a single bracket for above. Slide each book between the top and bottom brackets before placing light-weight objects on it. Voila!
