A Vintage portrait with Grace | Hi everyone! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Grace and I got to work on one of the art projects for my online art class this weekend and it was so much fun. The assignment was to create a vintage inspired portrait on a small piece of canvas. Grace was anxious to start and dived right in! She, of course, finished before me. Soon we both had our canvas’ prepared…covered in a patchwork of vintage papers and doilies. I showed Grace examples of Jeanne’s original work so she could envision the outcome of the project. image via jeanneoliverdesigns We will be attaching these canvas’ to vintage door plates or escutcheons, just as seen above. Here is Grace’s finished portrait… When I asked her to tell me the story behind this portrait she said, ” She is a princess, waiting in the garden outside her castle for her prince to come.” Here are the first steps of my process…sketching in my girl… I painted out some of the background papers to create a light area. Hope you all have a beautiful day! xo,

Famous INFPs - CelebrityTypes.com Jean-Jacques Rousseau Philosopher and author Rousseau: "[My] heart [is] at once haughty and tender [and my] character effeminate, yet invincible." Rousseau: "[When under stress I thought of] the books I had read [and applied] them to myself. I [imagined I was] one of the characters [and soon found myself] in made-up circumstances which were most agreeable to my inclinations." Rousseau: "Reason is greatly indebted to passion. Junebug's Jacket and a Heidi & Finn Pattern Giveaway! Heidi and Finn has graciously offered to share a FREE pattern with two lucky readers--more info below! First of all, thanks to all of you who weighed in on the choosing of fabric for Junebug's jacket. The general consensus was to use the mustard fabric as the lining fabric--which I was totally on board with! (Have no fear, the other fabric will be used for an upcoming skirt.) Once the jacket was constructed, I decided to use a hook and eye closure instead of the orange buttons. I shared before that the pattern was from the Etsy shop Heidi and Finn and boy, was it a good pattern. First, let me share Junebug's Jacket. The closure is supposed to be a big fabric bow, but Junebug is not the biggest fan of big bulky pieces on her clothing so I adapted to suit her pickiness. Love it, right? You probably want to make one too, huh? 2. The giveaway will be open from now until Saturday, September 24th at midnight E.S.T. Yay for giveaways! P.S.

Portrait of an INFP As an INFP, your primary mode of living is focused internally, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit into your personal value system. Your secondary mode is external, where you take things in primarily via your intuition. INFPs, more than other iNtuitive Feeling types, are focused on making the world a better place for people. Their primary goal is to find out their meaning in life. What is their purpose? How can they best serve humanity in their lives? INFPs are highly intuitive about people. Generally thoughtful and considerate, INFPs are good listeners and put people at ease. INFPs do not like conflict, and go to great lengths to avoid it. INFPs are flexible and laid-back, until one of their values is violated. When it comes to the mundane details of life maintenance, INFPs are typically completely unaware of such things. INFPs do not like to deal with hard facts and logic. INFPs have very high standards and are perfectionists. Growth

How to Make Hot Air Balloon Ornament Tutorial I get inspiration from so many places. When browsing the Restoration Hardware website I spotted this adorable hot air balloon nursery mobile. The first thing I thought was I can make this! I made my hot air balloon ornament, using a plastic Christmas ornament I bought at the 99 Cents Only store. ** An alternative if you don't want to make a the basket out of paper is to use a plastic soda bottle cap and paint it brown. *** If you are making this into a mobile, I would hot glue gun the cap of the ornament onto the ball so there is no risk of coming apart and being a choking hazard. MAGAZINE ENVELOPES 18K+ Well I got this idea from our friend Nina. She was making these super cute envelopes out of scrapbook paper and I really wanted to make some! So I came home and made some! They are so so SO simple and add a personal touch to your envelopes. You will need: An old magazine, scissors, an envelope, a glue stick and a Sharpie. Tear out some magazine pages that you like. Carefully pull the envelope apart. Trace the envelope on a magazine page. Cut the envelope shape out. Turn the envelope over as well as the magazine cut-out. Unfold everything and separate the magazine cut-out from the envelope. Glue the bottom flap down to the two side flaps. And you've made your own envelope! The great thing about making these envelopes our of magazine pages is that the envelopes have a character all of their own.
