Kinect-like camera interface for taking self-portraits While digital cameras have made it easier to take self-portraits thanks to the inclusion of self-timers, face, smile and motion detection, and the positioning of displays on the front of the camera - as seen with Samsung's DualView camera - changing the framing or altering settings still requires the user to run back to the camera itself to get things right. Now researchers at the University of Tsukuba's Department of Computer Science in Japan have developed technology that lets shutterbugs put themselves in the picture and snap a pic using Kinect-like hand gestures. The initial system devised by Shaowei Chu and Jiro Tanaka requires a camera either with a front-facing viewfinder, or one that can be flipped around to face the front. Source:

Seven steps to update the Adobe Flash Player on Windows | Defensive Computing Adobe just released version 10 of the free Flash Player Web browser plug-in. The new version ( replaces version 9,0,124,0 (yes, those are commas, not periods) and includes an important fix for a security flaw known as "clickjacking," as well as fixes for other problems. Everyone should update their copy of the Flash Player, and this post explains how to do so on Windows machines (the Flash Player also runs on OS X and Linux). Updating the Flash Player on a Windows machine is unusually cumbersome. Another reason for the unusual hassle is that for many years, installing a new version didn't remove old versions. Thus, the safest approach is to use Adobe's Flash Player uninstaller program. I've written about this before , so rather than rehash it fully, what follows is a seven-step cheat sheet. Step 1: To get the lay of the land, use Adobe's Flash tester page to see which version is currently being used by your Web browsers. Uninstalling Installing

The BlockCAD Home Page whereami.swf (Oggetto application/x-shockwave-flash) TBI : jamais sans mes ressources !

Trufocals As simple as TruFocals are to use, their technology is very sophisticated. Each"lens" is actually a set of two lenses, one flexible and one firm. Theflexible lens (near the eye) has a transparent distensible membraneattached to a clear rigid surface. The pocket between them holds asmall quantity of crystal clear fluid. As you move the slider on thebridge, it pushes the fluid and alters the shape of the flexible lens.Changing the shape changes the correction. This mimics the way thelenses in your eyes used to perform when you were younger. This allows you to choose the exact correction that works best foryou at any distance and under any lighting conditions. Source:
