angry birds cake balls | onebitemore
*grunt grunt grunt hurhurhur grunt*“DAMMIT!” Sounds that reverberate around lounge rooms, bedrooms and through the earplugs attached to countless iPhones, androids and smartphones throughout the world. The cause? Angry Birds. The game itself is based on a fairly simple premise. The birds get angry and, as revenge, hurtle themselves at the snorting green pigs, who in turn have built forts of varying strengths. I’d been itching to try my hand at making some cake balls (like cake pops, but without the pops), but had struggled to come up with a decorating theme for them. Until, that is, I caught wind that this coming Saturday had been dubbed International Angry Birds Day, and that fans of the game all around America were planning on gathering for reasons unknown. I called the VTB that evening. “So, err, I have a favour to ask of you…” said I. “What kind of favour?” “You want to what?!” So it was settled. Hurrah! *oink oink* angry birds cake balls Instructions 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. the red bird: Blue bird:

End of School Year Strawberry Lemonade — Savor The Thyme - Food, Family a...
It happened again: another child completed another year of school. Last Friday we celebrated my son completing preschool and this Friday, my daughter completed first grade. A brave smile was on my face when I shared in my daughter’s excitement as we piled into the van after the school bell rang. I am a sappy nostalgic person that is full of pride but knows with that final first grade bell, we are closer to her to being a ’grown-up’. Now that those feelings are out there, let’s all celebrate health and togetherness with some semi-homemade strawberry lemonade. Please note that one of our adult guests discovered that this recipe is further enhanced with gin. Strawberry Lemonade 1.75 liters lemonade (I used Mayer Brothers) 16 oz. organic strawberries, rinsed, hulled and chopped roughly. 1 lemon, sliced (optional) Directions 1. 2. 3. *Has your summertime officially started yet?
Grilled Salmon with Quick Blueberry Pan Sauce | The Cavewoman's Kitchen
Kevin and I don’t do much to celebrate holidays, we are not gift givers, nor do we plan any big to-do, we enjoy having an evening at home. I do however try to plan a dinner that is a little bit special. This blueberry sauce definitely took our weekly salmon up a notch. The shallots, and garlic cut out the sweetness from the blueberries and gave it a lovely smooth, rich texture. Season with freshly ground black pepper. Brush grill rack with oil. Grill salmon until just opaque in center, 4-5 minutes per side. Recipe inspired by Epicurious
