Totally Free Images! Reusable Art WPClipart Home Page Database error - Gutenberg Copyright-Free Photo Archive: Public Domain Photos and Images The photo archive at Gimp-Savvy.com has more than 27,000 free photos and images saved on our own dedicated server, consisting of over 2.5 Gbytes of data. The goal is to make this archive a resource for collage and photo-montage using digital image editing techniques such as those described in Chapter 7 of Grokking the GIMP. To improve the archive's usefulness, full indexing of the images is planned. However, this job would be taxing for a single person, and would probably produce only mediocre results. In looking through the archive you will be able to browse pages of photo thumbnails, which are linked to the full-size images. The images and photos found in this archive come from three main sources: the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the U.S. The photos you'll find here are copyright free, but some restrictions still apply.

Fashion Plate Collection Home » Fashion Plate Collection The original fashion plates collected by Blanche Payne and others have been cataloged and carefully stored for preservation purposes in archival housing. Many of these plates are from some of the leading French, British, American, and other continental fashion journals of the 19th century and early 20th century: Belle assemblée; Le bon ton; Le Follet, courrier des salons; Journal des dames and des modes; Godey's lady's book and magazine, and others. They are primarily hand-colored engravings although some of the plates after 1885 are colored lithographs. A project was undertaken by the Digital Initiatives Program to digitize and provide online access to selections from this collection. The 417 digital images cover many stylistic periods in French and English history. Blanche Payne taught historic costume and apparel design in the School of Home Economics at the University of Washington. Plate 1: Empire period fashion. Plate 2: Georgian period fashion.
