Easter Egg Hunt Song for teaching English Page in Japanese Target English: Easter, garden and house words Target grade: Kindergarten to Elem 4 You can find this song on vol. 6 & the Teacher's Set. Until now there hasn't been a Genki English Easter theme. This is because Genki English is mainly used in elementary schools, where in most countries Easter is a holiday. But I've had many requests from teachers who teach English privately for something a little special for this time of year! As this theme is more likely to be used with younger and smaller groups of kids I've slowed it right down, and made it a little lighter than the other songs. Oh, and don't forget to teach the younger kids the dangers of playing near water! This theme was added to the site at the request of teachers like yourself, so if you have any comments, feedback, or other requests then please let me know! Picture Book Easter Egg Hunt Recommended Game Whilst you can use any of the vocab review games, why not have a go at "Mini-Karuta". Chocolate Monster: 1. Richard
Christmas in Great Britain: Christmas Around the World at Santa's Net. Christmas in Great Britain In Great Britain the hustle and bustle of the season begins well before Christmas and there is barely anytime for a break until the Twelfth night. There is preparation going on of foods, the sending of Christmas cards, the decorating of houses and churches, and the readying of gifts keep everyone busy even the youngest family members. On Christmas Eve youngsters hang up their stockings on the ends of the beds or by the chimney so that when Father Christmas comes he can leave them something. On Christmas morning the family traditionally opens their presents and prepares for a big feast which typically is served just after midday. In the afternoon they exchange visits with neighbors other family members. Some churches in Great Britain have a Christingle service on the fourth Sunday of Advent. In Britain, children write their letters to Father Christmas and then throw them into the fireplace so they will float up the chimney and fly to the North Pole.

Creepy Crawlies - Bugs! Page in Japanese Target Language: What's that? What's this? + bugs! Target Grade: Kindergarten to Junior High 1 This song can be found on the new vol. 5! They either love them or hate them, but kids are always asking me what certain bugs are called in English!! As you can imagine, the gestures help make the song here. In the chorus the kids ask "What's that?" In the verse the kids ask whilst pointing at the first card on the board "What's that?" In the second half of the verse the teacher asks "What's this?" For example: "Cockroach" "Beetle" "Caterpillar" ( your fingers become the caterpillars legs) "Butterfly" ( flap the butterfly's wings) "Ant" "Worm" ( wiggle your arm like a worm) "Dragonfly" ( flap the dragonfly's wings) "Mosquito" ( pretend to sting a friend - the most popular bit of the song!) Picture Book What's this + Bugs! Bonus Printables Recommended Game: Mushi Battle Game Using "What's this?" You might also be wondering why the song is called "creepy crawlies" rather than "bugs".
