Wielding pens, pencils and markers she creates hand-lettered, typographic and illustrated masterpieces. But let’s rewind a bit, it wasn’t always the alphabet that took Gemma’s creative fancy. When she was five, she liked to draw her pet chook Rosie. Plus she still manages to juggle teaching classes on the art of hand lettering (sign us up!) En París me diplomé en Diseño Gráfico, en el ENSAA Duperré, y en Barcelona obtuve el título de técnico superior en Encuadernación Artística, en la Escuela de Arte y Diseño Llotja. El hecho de haber cambiado siete veces de ciudad a lo largo de mi vida, tal vez me enseñó a disfrutar de lo desconocido y a buscar siempre nuevos caminos. El compromiso con la enseñanza es vital para no perder los conocimientos transmitidos desde generaciones, y para mantener el oficio al día y en acorde con las nuevas tendencias. Son todas estas cosas y más, que me empujaron a soltar el ancla en el puerto de Barcelona, y establecer mi pequeño taller en tierra catalana!
