Scriptorium Fonts, Art and Design I was shopping in my local HEB grocery store this weekend and found myself in the soft drink section, confronted by a wall of cool retro-looking bottles of all sorts of sodas from the Dublin Bottling Works, a company based in Dublin Texas which produces a full line of specialty soft drinks, apparently mostly for distribution through HEB. They’ve got all the usual flavors like Ginger Ale, Cola and Root Beer and some more unusual flavors, including Black Cherry. The labels are printed on transparent plastic slip-ons which are surprisingly effective at emulating the old-fashioned look of being directly screen printed on the bottles. The labels are great examples of retro design, and though I may be a bit biased, the coolest by far is the Black Cherry soda label which uses our Folkard font to great effect.

27 Superb Sites With Royalty Free Stock Images For Commercial Use Any successful website, blog or social media account needs eye-catching imagery. Fortunately, there are plenty of resources available, the issue is that most of them are either very expensive or under the jurisdiction of extremely complicated licensing laws. Once you do find a resource that offers free stock images, the majority of these sites host the same, similar stock photography and clichéd ‘arty’ photos. Here at Verve, we think a lot about visual content and following on from the success of the recent 21 Blog Writing Tips From The Experts article which now has well over 2,000 social shares (and counting), it made perfect sense to put together this post… For my own benefit, I wanted a ‘go to’ list of sites that offered royalty free stock images for commercial use. There did not seem to be much available that wholly offered what I was looking for.

3rd Party Digg Development Digg Oracle The Digg Oracle is a Google Gears tool that indexes your Digg history and allows you to sort, search, and filter stories you have voted on in the past. Venn Friends Type in your Digg user name, and you will see a Venn Diagram of your friends and fans. People who you have added as a friend are on the left, people who have added you as a friend are on the right, and mutual friendships show up in the middle.
