More importantly, I've got repurposed headboards on my mind as we continue with our it's taking foreverbedroom remodel. So I thought I'd share 20 of the most inspiring repurposed headboards that will wisk you right into dreamland! - aged oars - Paper Flower Roundup As promised, here is a roundup from around the web of some gorgeous paper flowers! All of these would be great for weddings, home decor or a gift for your special someone this Valentine's Day! Above you will see a rose that I made thanks to a great tutorial and template from Ellinee. The rose template even comes in several colors so you could print it out onto white copy paper and get a variety of colors! Of course, no paper flower roundup is going to be complete without mention of my own tutorials! My favorite of my own tutorials was, of course, my paper calla lilies. If crepe paper is more your style, there are a multitude of varieties available with tutorials from Martha Stewart Weddings. Are you into quilling? Have some leftover party streamers? Have you seen any paper flower tutorials that shouldn't be missed? Here are some more of my paper roses.
TP Tube Wall Art If you filed away the idea of making cardboard wall decor after seeing Suzy Myers' surprising faux iron scrollwork, now is probably the time to be saving up a supply of toilet paper tubes. I noticed a commercial for the Scott's Naturals tube-free variety a few nights ago, and realized cardboard rolls may soon be a thing of the past. The ad is a wonder of tp roll skyscrapers and such... wish I could share it with you here, but alas, no one has posted it on YouTube yet. (But it seems even tp rolls can stir up controversy, as you'll see in this video!) Leaving that behind, I didn't have to look far to find lots of inspiring cardboard tube decorating ideas. Here's a terrific family tree idea and tutorial by a young mom who blogs from Alaska at No Dime Design. From The How-To Gal, turquoise wall art that she rightly calls trash to treasure. Jamie from See You There designed this classy wreath that's dressed for the holidays with waxed paper flowers, gold balls, and grosgrain ribbon.

Denim Sunburst Textile Art Here is one of my projects that was featured on Craftgawker a while back: Denim Sunburst Textile Art The process of making the wall hanging is very simple, yet very time consuming. I simply cut old denim jeans into small rectangular pieces of all different sizes. Most of the strips were thinner than 1 inch. Then I began to sew then one by one onto a fabric backing. Craft: Valentine's Day Wall Art I loved how my Valentine's Day garland and wreath looked so I decided to make another Valentine's Day decoration. In our living room we have a big blank wall that is patiently waiting for us to finish the wall art we plan on hanging. I decided to use that space and try to make a simple, cheap wall art. Supplies: Card stock, pattern to print (I did sheet music), scissors, tapeCost: $0 (I already had all of the supplies) I started off by printing off sheet music. Then I found a heart shape that I liked (via google images). I cut out the hearts by hand - I'm very jealous of people with cricuts or other similar machines that do it for you. :-) I had originally planned on just taping the hearts to the wall (I was going for very simple wall art) but decided it might look neat if the hearts stood a little bit off of the wall. Does that make sense? I printed the outline with the folding lines (light grey) onto card stock and cut them out. Then I taped them to the backs of the hearts. All done!

Ice Shot Glasses: DIY Winter Wedding or Party Drinks Posted on January 25, 2012 by Christina Learn How to Make Ice Shot Glasses Inspired by Quebec’s Hôtel de Glace I’ve always wanted to go to the Hôtel de Glace in Quebec. In fact, my husband and I had reservations there 11 years ago, but had to cancel because my dad was in the hospital. I decided to use the hotel’s notorious ice bar as inspiration for this tutorial. Making a shot glass out of ice is a cinch. (You can also purchase molds to make ice shot glasses here Ice Shot Glasses Tutorial You will need: water or Kool-aid like beverage (if you go with the Kool-aid, water it down so it doesn’t end up too sticky)3 oz Dixie cups1 oz plastic cups or Dixie cupssmall rocksduct tape Pour beverage into larger cup about 2/3 full. Place smaller cup inside the cup and push it down until it is about level with the rim of the larger cup. Place a piece of duct tape over the two cups. Repeat until you have desired number of shot glasses. Remove from freezer.
The Tale of the Three Brothers | when boredom strikes. So. Over the July 4th weekend I decided to embark on a new craft-like project. I’d always thought it would be cool to paint a chapter of a book on a wall, but never actually followed through with the vision. Pottery Barn Eagan Mirror : A Creative Beginning My Favorite Things - DIY Design with Wooden Pallets and Crates Have you jumped on the wooden pallet trend train? I haven't made any projects myself yet...but I did rescue one pallet from certain landfill death - and it's pink! It sits and waits patiently in our garage. As inspiration for all of us wooden pallet procrastinators, I've put together a fun collection of projects I found out there in cyber land, near and far. Donna at Funky Junk Interiors revealed this gorgeous pallet desk just 2 months ago. Every good desk deserves an equally good pallet chair. If your little person at home needs a special place of their own, and you are short on space, take a look at this pallet wall shelving unit with built in desk from It's Cold Outside. Got the desk covered, but still need a shelf? Or line up three in a row for a perfectly balanced rustic wall display like Hometown Girl shows us in this Pinterest photo. Take it one step further like the folks at Relic Design and rework them into a free-standing shelving unit. Shoerack anyone? So you see?
