Mint Chocolate Chip Cake

Chocolate cake and I have had a very interesting romance. I started off with quite an intense dislike of chocolate cake. I KNOW. But try not to judge me too harshly, I had many bad experiences with store-bought dry, dense mudcakes covered in grainy baking chocolate icing. So every year when I asked Regex Man what cake he would like for his birthday and every year he replied me with "Chocolate. So this year for Regex Man's birthday I offered to do a chocolate cake even though he said it didn't have to be chocolate this year. I used David Lebovitz's devil's food cake recipe again, my new favourite chocolate cake since making it for my raspberry cupcakes when I launched the new site. Originally I was going to arrange the scoops of icing around the edge of the cake, but I realised I didn't have quite enough icing to do that so I ended up just doing a few of them in the middle. tiny gingerbread houses, a few variations Earlier I made gingerbread houses meant to perch on the edge of a mug, but I wanted to work on a few more things. First, since these are meant to be eaten I wanted to cut down on the amount of royal icing. I still used it to assemble the houses, but to get sugar decorations to stick to the roofs I decided to use simple syrup. I heated one part water and one part sugar and let it bubble for a while on the stove just so it would thicken. Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars with Streusel Topping I can honestly say I’ve never had a dessert quite like this before. I was powerless when it came to trying them after my brother Nate (the same one who gave us the recent pumpkin bread recipe) insisted that this is his wife’s favorite dessert of all time. All time. Ok. That’s a pretty rave review. It made me start considering the worth of making the recipe.

Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes As I mentioned on Friday, I have been doing some experimentation with the beer and chocolate combination. The Guinness-chocolate ice cream that I made totally kicked butt, so I couldn’t wait to see how I liked beer and chocolate in my cake. The answer? The Baker Chick: Cinnamon Roll Pancakes There are certain recipes that when I see I absolutely have to make. This doesn’t happen all that often. Usually I’ll admire something and bookmark it, maybe getting inspired by another beautiful recipe along the way. But the moment I saw the words “Cinnamon Roll Pancakes,” I stopped in my tracks and did a double take. After staring at the picture for a good 5 minutes, I checked that I had all the ingredients and then made these babies.

CREAMY ONE INGREDIENT ICE CREAM It’s raining hard. Really hard. Scary kind of hard . . . lightening . . . thunder . . . wind. Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies I am so in love with these darn chocolate lava cookies! What is it about a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie stuffed with decadent, rich, melted chocolate that makes it so irresistible?? Especially when topped with vanilla ice cream. These are one of Kev’s favorite homemade treats, and he usually asks me to make them at least once a week.

Apple Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes Apple Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes By Stefani Pollack Be sure to leave your kitchen while these apple pecan cinnamon roll cupcakes are baking. When you reenter the room, you’ll get to experience a sensational smell that is so strong you can almost see it cartoonishly wafting from your oven directly to your nose. When the cupcakes are done, quickly drizzle the tops with apple cider glaze. Then, dive into your works of art, making sure to lick the warm, gooey apple cinnamon pecan filling off of your fingers as you go.

Pip & Ebby - Pip &Ebby - Crack&brownies - StumbleUpon Have you ever tried crack? Yeah, me either. After eating these brownies, though, I feel like I would probably be less addicted to crack. I mean, how can that not be the case with brownies, peanuts, marshmallows, Reese's peanut butter cups, chocolate, peanut butter and Rice Krispies all present in a single bite?! This recipe comes from my very good Heather, and I am very grateful that she shared it! Petite Pumpkin Spice Donuts Muffins, please accept our apologies in advance. We did something bad. You're going to hate us. You're going to rue the day you stumbled upon this little corner of the blogging universe.

King Arthur Flour – Baking Banter - StumbleUpon Love brownies. Love their shiny, flaky top that shatters into micro-thin shards that shower onto your fingers as you eat. Love their dark, gooey center. Their “chocolate nirvana” flavor. Margarita Cupcakes Cinco de Mayo will soon be here (May 5th for those non-Spanish speakers). Though it’s a Mexican holiday, here in Southern California, Cinco de Mayo celebrations are pretty widespread… mostly an excuse to eat Mexican food and partake in downing a few margaritas. We had a party last year for that very reason. Green Tea Bundt Cake By Joanne Choi, Week of Menus This cake is a favorite among my women’s church group. It’s not too sweet, has a really lovely green tea flavor and has a striking color and look to it. In addition, it’s very easy to throw together quickly (I made two bundt cakes on the same day in the same pan just so you know how much easier a bundt is) and the women love it. I know, because there isn’t any left. If you’re looking for something that is super sweet look elsewhere – this cake is about letting the green tea flavor sing with a subtle note of sweetness.
