Happy 69 Year Old Lady Has Not Used Money For 15 Years
Heidemarie Schwermer, a 69-year-old woman from Germany, gave up using money 15 years ago and says she’s been much happier ever since. Heidemarie’s incredible story began 22 years ago, when she, a middle-aged secondary school teacher emerging from a difficult marriage, took her two children and moved to the city of Dortmund, in Germany’s Ruhr area. One of the first things she noticed was the large number of homeless people, and this shocked her so much that she decided to actually do something about it. She had always believed the homeless didn’t need actual money to be accepted back into society, only a chance to empower themselves by making themselves useful, so she opened a Tauschring (swap shop), called “Gib und Nimm” (Give and Take). Her small venture was a place where anyone could trade stuff and skills for other things and skills they needed, without a single coin or banknote changing hands. So in 1996. she took the biggest decision of her life: to live without money. Related:  SURVIVAL

How 1 MILLION Pounds Of Organic Food Can Be Produced On 3 Acres By Andy Whiteley Co-Founder of Wake Up World The quality and accessibility of our food supply is a mounting issue today. With GMOs, chemical pesticides and low-nutrition processed foods now commonplace in the mainstream supply, taking control of your own food supply is one of the smartest things you can do – for your health and for your hip pocket. So, with limited space, how can we create an independent food supply? I recently came across this amazing video of a man, urban farmer Will Allen, who has figured out a self-sustaining system that can grow 1 million pounds of food every year, on just 3 acres of land, using the symbiotic cultivation of plants and aquatic animals in a re-circulating system. If you’re interested in starting your own Aquaponics system in your home, be sure to check out our exclusive special offer to Wake Up World readers at the bottom of this page. Are The Elite The Most Paranoid Preppers Of All? By Michael Snyder When it comes to “prepping,” many among the elite take things to an entirely different level. As you will see below, the elite are willing to pay big money for cutting edge home security measures, luxury bomb shelters and superyacht getaway submarines. Meanwhile, the media outlets that the elite own continue to mock the rest of us for getting prepared. The elite live in a world that is completely different from the world that you and I live in. Business is booming because billionaires are a paranoid bunch. But for many elitists, those kinds of extreme security measures are simply not enough. As we roll down US Highway 41 in Terre Haute, Indiana , my guide insists I give him my iPhone. That sounds lovely. Hoarding these items is better than having money in the bank (Ad) But normal people like us cannot afford something like that. Other elitists will be taking off in their superyachts and heading out into the open ocean when things really start falling to pieces.

Podcasts - Forum - A World of Ideas How To Purify Water – Water Purification Process “Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink,” as the old saying goes. A more apt statement for these times might be, “water, water everywhere, but is it safe to drink?” And if it’s not, what is a reliable water purification process? Sadly, in this day and age there are few, if any, places where the water is safe to drink without treating, no matter how pristine and inviting it may look. Water in the wild often contains harmful microorganisms, bacteria and parasites that can cause a variety of ailments, such as giardia, dysentery, hepatitis, and hookworms. I. The simplest method to purify water is probably boiling. You need to bring the water to a full, rolling boil for at least five minutes to be safe, with some experts recommending an even longer time. II. There are also several chemical purifiers on the market. One to two tablets or drops will clear up a quart of water. You can even add a few drops of bleach in a pinch, though I wouldn’t recommend overusing this one. III. IV.

Sling A sling is a weapon used to fire rocks farther and harder than could be thrown by hand alone. I made this sling from bark fiber that I made into cord. The cord was then tied in such a way to produce an area in the middle with three cords. A strip of the same bark fiber was woven between these to form a pouch. A loop was tied at one end of the sling and a knot tied in the other. Coriander oil (cilantro) can be used to treat food poisoning and drug-resistant infections (NaturalNews) Food-borne illness outbreaks and the growing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant "superbugs" are two very serious societal problems for which researchers say they are actively looking for viable solutions. But one such solution found right in nature is coriander oil, which has been found to kill a number of different bacterial strains, as well as aid in digestion and treat the symptoms of food poisoning. Dr. Fernanda Domingues and her colleagues from the University of Beira Interior in Portugal tested the effects of coriander oil, an essential oil extracted from the seeds of the coriander plant, also known as cilantro, on twelve different bacterial strains, including Escherichia coli (E. coli), Salmonella enterica, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), the infamous hospital superbug. "The results indicate that coriander oil damages the membrane surrounding the bacterial cell," said Dr. Sources for this article include:
