AlvaProjects | Alvanon The AlvaScan is based on the latest millimetre radio wave technology and is the only scanner that collects accurate measurements from a person who is fully clothed. The scanner uses safe, low power radio waves to detect moisture on the surface of the skin. In the 15 seconds it takes to complete each scan, the AlvaScan collects some 200,000 data points on the consumer’s body and instantly converts them into around 100 body measurements, posture and shape characteristics. This information is then used by retailers for marketing promotions and/or apparel analysis. AlvaScan tours have been successfully deployed with the following retail partners: 2007/8 Levi’s Strauss and Co in nine cities in China2009 Pacific Brands for Cathay Pacific2009 S. AlvaKids, an ingenious new mobile phone application and online widget, takes the guesswork out of buying the right size garment to fit UK children from newborn to pre teens. ECE 4760 Final Project: 3D Scanner Ryan Dunn (rjd38 at Dale Taylor (dat38 at Introduction This goal of this project is to make an effective, low-cost 3D scanner. Summary Our project implements the hardware necessary for a laser triangulation 3D scanner as well as a PC user interface for controlling the scanner and acquiring data via an Ethernet connection. High Level Design Rationale While 3D scanners are by no means new technology, they are still well out of the price range of the average individual or small business owner. 3D Laser Triangulation Scanning The way that a 3D Laser Triangulation Scanner works can be easily explained using simple geometry and trigonometry. Laser Triangulation Logical Structure In order to extract physical coordinates from a contour line like the one explained in the math above, we will use a camera and a laser line. Digitally reconstructing the object and processing the images from the camera to extract the contour lines is computationally expensive. Mega644 Camera Ethernet

3rdTech TheoLt CMIS Research - Image Analysis Activities - Applications/Work Overview - 3D Flatbed Scanner 3D Flatbed Scanner 1. Summary CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics (CMIS) has developed an innovative flatbed scanning and imaging system based on a method of scanning the visible surfaces of small 3D objects, for enabling 3D viewing applications and surface measurements. 2. Representing the third largest segment of the PC peripherals market, scanners transform hard-copy pictures or text into digital data for use in a wide range of applications. CSIRO's proprietary imaging technology may be applied, to extend the scanning capabilities, of scanner, photocopier and fax machines, to include 3D images of the visible surfaces of small and low depth of field objects capable of being placed on a scanner. 3. The range of potential business and consumer application areas for 3D scanning applications will be limited only by the imagination. Or if you have an idea for different applications, please let us know. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. C. Contacts
