Joe Satriani's top 5 tips for guitarists Joe Satriani promises some surprises on his upcoming 15th solo album, slated for release this July. Since mid-January, the guitar star has been recording tracks at Skywalker Sound in Lucas Valley, California, and at 25th Street Recording in nearby Oakland with bassist Bryan Beller, drummer Marco Minnemann and keyboardist-guitarist Mike Keneally, and Satriani says that his new music is taking him into areas he's never gone before. "There’s a lot of playing that advances things both technically and melodically," Satriani says. "From a guitarist's point of view, it's fun to hear new ground being broken. The melodies are really strong, and the arrangements push them into really cool and unexpected places.

While they use up more resources and energy than just putting some pots out on the porch, they're important designs for foodies who like to cook with their own fresh herbs even though they live in apartments where they can't grow their own plants, or want fresh herbs during winter. Symmetric scale - Wikipedia In music, a symmetric scale is a music scale which equally divides the octave.[1] The concept and term appears to have been introduced by Joseph Schillinger[1] and further developed by Nicolas Slonimsky as part of his famous "Thesaurus of Scales and Melodic Patterns". In twelve-tone equal temperament, the octave can only be equally divided into two, three, four, six, or twelve parts, which consequently may be filled in by adding the same exact interval or sequence of intervals to each resulting note (called "interpolation of notes").[2] Examples include the octatonic scale (also known as the symmetric diminished scale; its mirror image is known as the inverse symmetric diminished scale[citation needed]) and the two-semitone tritone scale: Two-semitone tritone scale on C divides the octave into two equal parts (C-F♯) and fills in the resulting tritone gaps with two semitones (Db-D, G-Ab). This may be seen quite readily with the whole tone scale on C: Synthesized sample

Your Life On Rollerblades: Healthier And Better For The Environment More than half of all Americans live within five miles of where they work. But, rather than bike, walk, or take public transportation, the overwhelming majority take cars. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 77% drove to work alone in 2010, with another 10% roughly going via some sort of carpool. About 5% took public transit.
