Check If Someone Is Using Your Wi-Fi - TechSpot Guides There are many reasons why you'd want to check if an unauthorized party is using your wireless network. It may be that you're experiencing a slower than normal Internet connection or you simply don't want anyone getting a free ride while you pay the bill. Of course, there are also security implications if this person can somehow access files on your network, and even legal implications if he uses your connection for piracy or other illicit activities.

Eddie On Everything » How to disable dumprep.exe (Dump Reporting Tool) on Windows XP If you’ve ever had to use the task manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE) to kill a “Not Responding” program, you’ve probably been frustrated by the time it takes for the program to actually disappear from your screen. What’s going on here is that a Microsoft provided tool called “Windows Error Dump Reporting,” or “dumprep.exe,” is creating a file containing information about the error that can later be sent back to Microsoft, where it will be summarily ignored along with millions of other error reports. You can safely disable this largely useless feature (and thus speed up your computer in crash-situations) by taking the following steps. How to disable dumprep.exe:

What is an Operating System?& Not all computers have operating systems. The computer that controls the microwave oven in your kitchen, for example, doesn't need an operating system. It has one set of tasks to perform, very straightforward input to expect (a numbered keypad and a few pre-set buttons) and simple, never-changing hardware to control. For a computer like this, an operating system would be unnecessary baggage, driving up the development and manufacturing costs significantly and adding complexity where none is required. Instead, the computer in a microwave oven simply runs a single hard-wired program all the time. For other devices, an operating system creates the ability to:

How to make an HDTV Antenna I wanted to watch the IBM Jeopardy Challenge last night, but couldn't find anywhere to stream it online, and I don't have cable. So, I decided to make an antenna for my HDTV. With only about 30 minutes until the show started, I didn't have time to make one of those fancy wood and coat hanger designs you've probably seen around the internet. I had to make do with just this spool of copper wire and some cardboard. I stuck one end of the wire into the coaxial cable port on the back of my HDTV, wrapped the other end of the wire around a cardboard tube, and stuck the tube in my window. There's no special math or measurements involved in this antenna design, it's just my best guess at the minimum viable product required to pick up a signal.

- StumbleUpon Would you like to own an Airsoft gun, but can’t afford to buy one? How about making one instead using a soda bottle? Better yet, how about making a machine gun that only requires 4 cheap and commonly available parts that’s capable of firing hundreds Airsoft BBs before a reload is required? The informative video below shows you exactly how to do that for around $15. The parts you’ll need include a plastic soda bottle, a quick release air compressor adaptor, an air compressor blowgun, and a 7mm by 6-inch brake line. LOTS OF PUNS - StumbleUpon ...A guy goes into a nice restaurant bar wearing a shirt open at the collar and is met by a bouncer who tells him he must wear a necktie to gain admission. So the guy goes out to his car and he looks around for a necktie and discovers that he just doesn't have one. He sees a set of jumper cables in his trunk.
