Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes I may spend the majority of my time in the kitchen figuring out how to pack lots of vegetables, whole grains, and legumes into a simple yet flavorful dinner, but I can’t pretend that packaged food never makes an appearance in our house. There’s just something about Oreos I can’t resist, even though I know they’re full of junk. I swear I’m not trying to make all the cupcakes out of Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes, but lately every recipe that’s jumped out at me as I scroll through dozens of food blogs happens to be from that book. These are awesome, and if you’re at all hesitant about making cheesecakes this is a great place to start, because you get all the good qualities of a cheesecake without having to worry about cracking or water baths or springform pans. Ingredients Instructions Preheat oven to 275 F. (adapted from 52 Cupcakes, originally from Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes) share

Japanese Cheesecake There are cakes which look absolutely stunning and gorgeous on the outside, but when it comes to the taste, it disappoints, and you just wished that it tasted as good as it looks. I've had a lot of those experiences, and in fact, I think I've made a few of cakes like that myself! What I love about a good Japanese cheesecake is that while in appearance it resembles a humble (and perhaps, plain or boring?) We all go through phases, don't we?! Right out of the oven...hmmmmm. Rolo Brownie Trifles It’s Flag Day! Woot, woot! Time to partay! I mean…not here or anything. Actually, we can still totally party here, but it’s just gonna be more about chocolate and caramel and whipped cream than flags, but a party is a party, right? I bet you guys weren’t even expecting a post from me, though, huh? I know, it’s been kind of erratic and sporadic around here lately. This is my last day of waiting for the Hubster to come home, to stay. You have all been so wonderful – ignoring the fact that my posts have been intermittent, and giving me kind, sweet, funny, supportive comments; here, on Facebook, and through Twitter and Instagram. Thank you to each and every one of you who has shared a story with me, made me laugh, and/or gave me strength. And so, just pretend that you each have one of these in front of you right now. To make these bad boys, I mixed up some brownies, then quartered two whole rolls of Rolos candies… …and sprinkled them all over the brownie batter. Oh, and P.S. Ingredients
Chocolate caramel cheesecake! In English:Ok, so this cheesecake is not for the weak.It contains everything (well, almost) that makes life good - chocolate, vanilla, caramel, roasted pecans and a lovely oreo crust. What could go wrong? Menus, Methods and Musings: Desserts: Salted Caramel Cheesecake (Updated with A Note on Salt) N.B. It was brought to my attention that if this recipe is made with regular salt, it is WAY too salty. I always use kosher salt. Don't use table salt or this will be truly inedible. My apologies to anyone who may have tried it already without that caveat! Here it is at last. I made this for Thanksgiving in 2010. I could have taken numerous pictures of my friends eating it, but when the dust settled, once again, I was left with no model. So, rather than make you wait until November for this recipe, when I might actually be able to get a decent picture of it, I’m giving it to you now and you can make it for Thanksgiving and Christmas and your husband’s birthday and your anniversary. Salted Caramel Cheesecake Serves 2 Ha ha! For the crust About 15 graham crackers 3 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 stick unsalted butter, melted 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt (note: I reduced this from 2 teaspoons. 1. 2. 3. For the cheesecake 3 8oz packages cream cheese, at room temperature 3 teaspoons kosher salt 1. 2.

Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with Chocolate Crust and Salted Caramel I’m frugal, I’ll admit it. I don’t mind spending money when I feel there is good bang for the buck (example, I’ll spend more for hotel room with a great view), but if I can make it myself, better and cheaper, then I will. That’s just a bonus, isn’t it? When I decided I wanted to make a cheesecake with a chocolate crust for Thanksgiving (and then again for Christmas Eve) I discovered that one could not just go to the store and buy chocolate cookie crumbs. I decided to make my own crust and found a wonderful recipe for chocolate wafers on Smitten Kitchen. on two sheet pans and baked them that way. This cheesecake has something for everyone; great vanilla flavor from the beans (my latest obsession), chocolate for the chocoholics, and salted caramel for the added sweet-salty kick. Easy Chocolate Homemade Ice Cream | I got this recipe from my friend Heather, and it is absolutely the easiest homemade ice cream recipe out there. And it’s Oh-So-Creamy!! Even my oldest has become a pro at making this, and now I can kick back and relax and tell her to go make some ice cream. (Ha!) You have only THREE ingredients. I told you it was simple. 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 8 oz. tub Cool Whip 1/2 gallon chocolate milk Yes, I use off-brand. Anyway, first mix the sweetened condensed milk with the cool whip and about half of the chocolate milk (or whatever will fit into your bowl). Next, pour the mixture into your ice cream freezer, and fill the remaining chocolate milk to the fill line. And if you have a helper, they might have to lick the bowl… Follow your ice cream freezer directions to finish the ice cream. And when it’s done… Perfection. Doesn’t it just make you want to end your hot summer’s day with some of this yumminess?? ~Mama Tutu P.S. Related posts: About Laura
