Nor have they received any of the fun packages that our pups have gotten from clients. Well the tides have finally turned. We have two cats. Cats are feisty like that. Callie is our Calico. And the self-professed non-cat lover came back with Luke. And so it goes. As far as cats go, these two are pretty much the most low maintenance pets we have ever had. To be quite honest, even though I routinely cook for the dogs (Exhibit A and Exhibit B), and feed them grain-free, holistic food, I don’t give as much thought to the cats’ food. Real meat (like chicken) is always the number one ingredient, which is exactly what you want when looking at a cat food label, and there are no by-products, artificial flavors or preservatives, which is exactly what you want when looking at ANY food label. Butter Pecan Fudge. - Nutmeg Disrupted In a few days I will be hosting my very first Cookie Swap! One of the best things in the Christmas season. And with it being nice and close to Christmas we should all still have plenty of goodies left to last through the holiday. Sugar being my passion I am going all out for the sweets selection! First up is an assortment of fudge. If you have never made fudge, this is an easy no fail recipe. One of my go to recipes for fudge is Butter Pecan. Sure to be a favorite with everyone. Butter Pecan Fudge 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup whipping cream 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups icing sugar, sifted 1 cup pecan halves, toasted and coarsely chopped In a large saucepan, combine the butter, sugars, cream and salt. Spread into a buttered 8-in. square dish.
