Decorative Uses For Gift wrap I love gift-wrap and I also love anything and everything having to do with typefaces. So it is no surprise to me that I have had my eye on this vintage typographer gift-wrap ever since Emily over at Jones Design Company posted about it as well as many other pretty papers she uses. I wanted to find a way I could use this gift-wrap where I could enjoy the pattern in my daily life instead of only wrapping gifts with it and giving it away. When I started to update my guest room I got an idea on how I could incorporate it into the room.

DIY Criss-cross headband My addiction to insanely simple DIYs continues. I threw this together today and thought I'd share:) 1. Take a long strip of fabric (preferably some type of stretchy fabric) 2. Position the middle of the fabric strip at the base of your neck 3. Craft: Valentine's Day Wall Art I loved how my Valentine's Day garland and wreath looked so I decided to make another Valentine's Day decoration. In our living room we have a big blank wall that is patiently waiting for us to finish the wall art we plan on hanging. I decided to use that space and try to make a simple, cheap wall art. Supplies: Card stock, pattern to print (I did sheet music), scissors, tapeCost: $0 (I already had all of the supplies) I started off by printing off sheet music. Bottle (w)rap I drink a lot of wine. And end up with a lot of empty wine bottles that are oh so pretty, it breaks my heart to have to junk them with the raddi- walla. I've been trying to find all sorts of utility excuses to hang on to them - wate bottles, plant holders and what have you. And now I have the perfect non-utility excuse to collect some more! Used: Coloured raffia from Le Papier Empty clearglass wine bottles (Sula Zinfandel -which is incidentally my personal favourite) Heavy duty glue (I have this stick of industrial glue that solidifies when it cools but I guess Fevicol would do as well) Starting at the bottom (cos the top's a bit tricky) starting winding the raffia tightly around the bottle, pausing to add a bit of adhesive every now and then.

MAKE IT: DIY Glitter Mason Jar + A Tip for Making the Glitter Stay Put! For ages, people have been entranced by two things: glitter, and mason jars. Pictures of mason jars, pictures of glitter… even pictures of mason jars holding glitter inside, as if to *store* it in some way… pictures like this can be found readily across the internets – all of them, all the internets, even the ones women invented, silly New York Times article – and these pictures? They are being pinned every. single. DAAYYY. However in more recent times, these same entranced people have been haunted by a certain burning question: Finger Knitting How-to You know how I just wrote about how I like getting a handmade gift more than just about anything. Well, this is anything. Sitting on the couch on a lazy Sunday, knitting with my kids . . . that beats gift-getting for sure. It is a gift itself. We just sat there side-by-side, for about an hour, feeling the warmth from each other’s bodies, listening to music from my computer and basking in each others company as the sun streamed through the windows. Ahhh . . .the experience was so delightful, it was hard to peel myself away to take the photos.

Fourth of July Star Jars These transformed mason jars are a fun way to both decorate an outdoor table for a 4th of July celebration or a safe way to entertain the kids during fireworks. Red spray paint Mason Jars Star stickers Newspaper Scatter star stickers onto the mason jar, make sure they’re stuck on very tight Screw on the mason jar lid and cap and place on top of a table covered in newspaper in a well ventilated area Spray with the paint from a nice distance around the entire jar until it’s coated well but without drips. Wait at least a couple hours for the jar to dry and carefully peel off the star stickers
