10 Luxury Websites That Are Haute and Hot Luxury retailers are finally embracing the Internet. Potentially enormous online sales have driven luxury retailers, who have been generally late to the game, racing to build an integrated online platform that includes websites, blogs, and social media channels. That’s really good news for consumers who can now find almost any luxury goods online – diamond necklaces, couture dresses, plush fur coats or trendy handbags and shoes – all while engaging with the brands directly. The conventional wisdom that shoppers wouldn’t buy without first touching and feeling the products is not always the case in reality. What sells and what doesn’t isn’t that predictable. Perfumes, exotic foods and smartly chic clothing are among the high-traffic categories as well as luxury travel, vintage wines and jewelry.

Find the Coaching in Criticism Feedback is crucial. That’s obvious: It improves performance, develops talent, aligns expectations, solves problems, guides promotion and pay, and boosts the bottom line. But it’s equally obvious that in many organizations, feedback doesn’t work. A glance at the stats tells the story: Only 36% of managers complete appraisals thoroughly and on time. Mary Meeker: Mobile Internet Will Soon Overtake Fixed Internet Mary Meeker of Morgan Stanley isn’t just any Internet analyst. She was covering the sector when the brokerage firm was the lead underwriter for Netscape Communications’ initial public offering in 1995, was dubbed the “Queen of the Net” by Barron’s magazine in 1998 and was covering the space in 2004, when Morgan Stanley helped launch the Google IPO. Now a managing director at Morgan Stanley and head of the global technology research team, she has released her latest massively detailed “State of the Internet” report, which she has been putting out periodically since 1995. She presented the report during an event this afternoon at Google, which was streamed live as part of the Events@Google series (the presentation is embedded below). And what does Meeker see in her crystal ball this year?

Because you are a luxury brand, you need to maintain that image throughout your marketing campaign. Even the affluent are on Facebook, and you need to make sure that you engage them there. However, you don’t want to have your image associated with second-rate digital marketing. 10 Community Manager Tools You Might Not Know by Renee Warren on Mar 01, 2011 Community Managers are often faced with the grueling task of sourcing out the best tools to use for social media. Motivating People to Perform at Their Peak - Art Markman by Art Markman | 9:00 AM January 14, 2014 Almost all decisions, big and small, are choices between exploring new possibilities and exploiting old ones. When you explore, you select an option that’s unknown—or reexamine one that wasn’t optimal in the past to get new information about it. When you exploit, you choose something that’s yielded good results before, believing it will do so again. Of course, the known course is safer. The ultimate guide to the Facebook Edgerank algorithm EdgeRank is one of the most important algorithms in marketing. Despite this, very few people have heard of it and fewer still can claim that they fully understand it. EdgeRank is the name of the algorithm which Facebook uses to determine what appears in their users’ news feeds. The news feed is Facebook’s ‘Killer App’. There is a plethora of information available to Facebook users, and the newsfeed is the order in which it appears.

Gucci Group: How luxury brands fast track their way to social media, community and new customers This week I had the great pleasure of speaking at the Gucci Group Conference in Miami.
