The Grove Release 3 - The Grove Release 3 gets back to the core. Introducing new natural effects for greatly improved – and totally new – tree characters. Tree branches have many senses and matching reactions to guide themselves through space. As The Grove delves deeper and deeper into the inner workings of growth, it becomes clear how much influence each of these strategies has on a tree’s eventual shape. It comes as no surprise that a tree’s main sense is that of light, or the lack thereof… Shade Avoidance Left: A tree grown with an extreme -2.0 Shade Avoidance. Middle: The same tree with only its Shade Avoidance changed to 0.0. Right: The same tree with 2.0 Shade Avoidance. A branch has several strategies to get to the thing it craves most: light. Until now, Favor Current was a uniform effect for every branch. So how does this work in real trees? Take the Beech tree, a good example of a shade tolerator. A shade avoider like a Pine can’t bear shade. Shade Avoidance adds a lot to the character of the tree. Fixes

Magnetisme HDRI Hub - Free HDRI Environment Maps HDRI Hub, a provider of royalty free textures, is pleased to provide you free HDRI environments for download that you can use in your private and commercial projects. Our focus is on producing great quality maps with a very high dynamic range to help you with photo realistic lighting and shading. All our sets are created as sIBL packages, which enable you to set up your scene with a single click by using the sIBL software. What is sIBL? sIBL is a short name for Smart Image Based Lighting. In the free samples section you will find even more downloads. Also make sure to visit our store to find an even larger range of environment maps, ranging from day to night and urban or natural locations. martini :: Blender network rendering for single frames Blender users have been experimenting with all sorts of interesting ways to speed up render times for single images on their individual machines. Some methods include scripts to split renders between separate GPUs, splitting render load between CPU and GPU, or rendering multiple images at a much lower sample rate with randomized seeds, then alpha merging them all back together. That's fine for a single machine, but even if you just have two computers, that's double the potential rendering speed! A few render farm services support something they are calling "split and stitch", where they subdivide the viewport, and render each piece across a number of machines. Requirements There are no external dependencies, but this script has some assumptions about your environment. It also assumes you have the ability to run blender from the command line across all participating machines. Limitations The image is only divided into 100 parts currently. Usage This should finish very quickly. Script

Onlne Materials Library Meta-androcto has updated his Blender Materials library with a new collection. The entire thing is hosted on GitHub - you can either download the files you need, or check out the entire library and keep it automatically updated, and use the Matlib addon bu macraken to access the material. Over the years I've collected & released many materials library's, I like them & as a hoarder I've collected many materialsIn this collection I've focused on Cycles & OSL.
