How To Motivate Yourself – Self Motivation

Staying motivated is a struggle — our drive is constantly assaulted by negative thoughts and anxiety about the future. Everyone faces doubt and depression. What separates the highly successful is the ability to keep moving forward. There is no simple solution for a lack of motivation. Even after beating it, the problem reappears at the first sign of failure. Reasons We Lose Motivation There are 3 primary reasons we lose motivation. Lack of confidence – If you don’t believe you can succeed, what’s the point in trying? How to Boost Confidence The first motivation killer is a lack of confidence. The way to get out of this thought pattern is to focus on gratitude. It might sound strange that repeating things you already know can improve your mindset, but it’s amazingly effective. Developing Tangible Focus The second motivation killer is a lack of focus. If you’re caught up in fear based thinking, the first step is focusing that energy on a well defined goal. Developing Direction

The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss “Everyone’s looking for rules to follow, and the sooner you realize there aren’t any, the better art can be.”– Jerrod Carmichael Jerrod Carmichael is pushing the boundaries of comedy with his groundbreaking work in stand-up, television, and film. Now just 29 years old, what this driven North Carolina native has accomplished is mind-boggling, and 2017 is going to be his biggest year yet. Jerrod stars in the hit NBC series The Carmichael Show, which he also writes and executive produces. Love at the Store is the funniest standup special I’ve seen in many years, and it’s the reason I reached out to Jerrod. In the summer of 2016, Jerrod reprised his role as ‘Garf’ in the Universal comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising opposite Seth Rogen and Zac Efron. Jerrod recently announced his upcoming authorial debut with an as-yet-untitled memoir. Please enjoy my wide-ranging conversation with Jerrod Carmichael! Subconscious Information Processing It's fathers day and I thought I'd tell a story about my dad and something he taught me a long time ago. I was in middle school and I had a school project due the next day and it came up at dinner that I had not done the project. My dad made me stay up very late that night until I had completed it. But the second thing he explained to me was more subtle and way more powerful. He explained that once your brain starts working on a problem, it doesn't stop. I've taken that approach with every big problem I've faced ever since. I'm a big fan of subconscious information processing. Thanks dad for that tip.
