Coolest. Stage. Ever - StumbleUpon Nov 29, 2010 Check out this incredible floating stage on Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria. The Bregenzer Festspiele (Bregenz Festival) has become renowned for its unconventional staging of shows. Verdi’s opera, “A Masked Ball” in 1999, featured a giant book being read by a skeleton. Charles Eisenstein - Why the Age of the Guru is Over . To me, this is less about the guru thing (which never even appealed to many of us in Gen X) and more about a recognition of the interconnected self - a sense of mutual care that is based in a participatory, interpersonal spirituality. This is a long essay, so I want to offer a (still quite long) section from the middle that gets to what I feel is the point - there's also a wee bit from the beginning to set the tone. Why the Age of the Guru is Over For a few decades now, it seems, humanity has been on the verge of a breakthrough in collective consciousness.

The Great Geek Manual » The World’s Most Beautiful Libraries I make no secret of the fact that I’m a hardcore bibliophile, but we’re a common enough lot these day. And the one sight that always makes me linger over a webpage is rows and rows of neatly organized books. So, in an effort to draw more like-minded read here to my little blog, I decided to round-up a gallery of photos of some of the most beautiful libraries I’ve ever seen photos of. Enjoy. If you enjoy this gallery, make sure you check out our other list of The United States’ Most Beautiful Libraries!

Bubble Printing Fun!!! - StumbleUpon This weekend we were doing bubble activities galore: playing and printing with bubbles. Cassie enjoyed both. What inspired us to do this was when we were at friend's house and they had Crayola Colored Bubbles. When you play with these bubbles they actually are colors.

Sixty Years Of Memories For my dad's 60th birthday last week, I wanted to do something really fun. My dad and I talk a lot about the past---nostalgia runs in our blood, I think---and we both love to reminisce. Inspired by Jordan Ferney's Postcard Birthday Poster, I started batting around an idea: what if I could get everyone from my dad's past to contribute a memory they had of him? Anamorphic Graffiti French collective Paper Donut has painted a series of walls with three-dimensional shapes. (Above) The image is part of an ad campaign for fashion store Sqwear, and the other two visuals are personal projects. The books featured here, ranging from Ulysses to Little Red Riding Hood, have been selected from the indexes of The Online Books Page. (See that page for more than 2 million more online books!) This page is a work in progress, and more works may be added to this page over time.

Postcard Birthday Poster DIY May 26 This project is part of a campaign I’m doing with Yahoo! Mail on different ways to keep in touch with family and friends. I had wanted to recreate an easier version of this big project I did for Aubrey last year and this seemed like the perfect time.
