Valentines - Cards This year I made this adorable gift for my boyfriend. On a deck of cards, I thought of 52 reasons why I love him soo much (I could have easily come up with 1000 <3) I typed them out and cut them up. Some cards I glued the white paper on and cut out patterned hearts. The other cards I backed the white paper with the same patterned paper and glued them on. Both designs looked great together. Egg Note Over in Beyond Beyond towers we have one weakness, of the Achilles Heal variety and it is eggs. Scrambled, poached, sunny side up, boiled – whatever way you can imagine them we have had them in all the many fangled ways that you can imagine! What we have never had is an invitation in an egg and this exploded our minds not even blew them. So, if you want to fry people’s minds like eggs then you can learn how to make these eggtastic wonders here on Poppytalk. Droolsome, and after you make your message in an egg we like paprika and parma ham in our scrambled eggs. The dopeness glory goes to: Elephantine (thanks for the find) and Poppytalk (a big make WOW). About the author I'm the big kahuna with the whole shebang.

Tin Lanterns Thank you for visiting my post about DIY Tin Lanterns… You may also be interested in my individually handmade ceramic homewares, accessories and gifts in my shop – take a look! I’m in love with my new recycled tea light can holder! It was so easy to make, and the best part is anyone can make one – you don’t need any special tools or materials. Here’s what you do: Peel the label off an old tin can, fill with water and freeze in the freezer. Once happy with your design, leave the ice to thaw out and wash off the pen marks.

Simple Cards "you and me blank greeting card" This card is simple and sweet. I found my inspiration for this card from Bookity on Etsy Three layers of paper, made from a strawberry, watermelon and red color are put together to make a heart. "je t'aime valentine's day card" I saw this skunk die cut last year, but didn't get around to buying it until now (it was 50% off, how could I pass it up?). "will you bee my valentine?" I have to admit, this is one of my new favorite cards. "whale you be my valentine?" Now this card is an old design. Come on over to my Etsy shop and check out what else is new!

Matchbox Chocolate Advent Calendar Since Alex told me about his family following the german tradition of Advent calendars, I wanted to make one for him as a surprise; and that’s what I did! An Advent calendar is a calendar that begins on 1st December and ends on Christmas; it consists of 24 little doors or boxes numbered from 1 to 24. Beginning on the first day of December, one door is opened each day, counting down the days remaining until Christmas Eve; behind each door is a treat, a piece of chocolate or a toy. I decided to make one with boxes of matches and fill each box with candy, jelly sweets, christmas ornaments and little notes. Plus, my calendar would have 5 rows x 5 columns as a matter of symmetry. That’s what I needed: 25 boxes of matchesblack, red and (a little bit of) gold paintplenty of candy (I used m&ms and two kinds of haribo jellies)four tiny christmas ornaments …and that’s what you can do to make one: Patiently empty all the match boxes. After that, glue them all together making a 5×5 drawer. Paint it up!

Happy wishes for your Easter and Passover break. We're heading over here later to learn how to make some marshmallow peeps! Care to join us? High/low Easter party. West coast applications close Friday at Renegade. Loving this free (April calendar) desktop wallpaper from the Free People blog. And I saw lots of rabbits hopping around here. Have a fantastic weekend!

Creative Reuse of Paper : Scrapbooking Affirmations - Scrapbook Ideas Was doing some “stumbling” yesterday…dangerous activity that. Anyway, on the heels of yesterday mornings paper storage post, I thought this was a wonderful way to not only use up some scrap paper, but also a really positive way to get some scrapbooking affirmations into my life. You don’t even need to do affirmations, you can do inspiring quotes, or little activities that give you joy. [Update 9/24/12] Wow….I’m not sure why, but this page has gone seriously viral. Thank you all for visiting. Scrapbooking Affirmations : Folding Origami Stars Scrapbooking Affirmations : You Are….. Since the new year has started I’ve been trying to think of ways to be more kind to my self. I used 12 x 12 inch scrapbook paper and cut 1/2 x 12″ strips, then followed the video HERE*. The general scrapbooking affirmations idea here is to reuse your scraps and make something beautiful, positive and joyful.

How To: Make Typographic Gift Wrap » Man Made DIY | Crafts for Men « Keywords: paper, craft, design, gift This year, I vowed to only make or buy handmade holiday gifts for my friends and family, and I've kept to it so far. But wrapping these gifts in commercial paper didn't seem to make much sense, so I wanted to create some handmade gift wrap to match. I happen to think a gift wrapped in newsprint is actually quite attractive, and love the look of text on a package, but wanted to put in a little more effort. So I came up with a cool option that's clean, masculine, and maintains the typographic look of the newsprint. Plus, it eliminates the need for any "to:/from" tags, as the recipient's name is right there in tasteful type. Once I figured it out, it was actually quite easy and quick - less than ten minutes per gift. Here's how to do it: Materials and Tools 1. 2. 3. 4a. 4b. 5. 6. Happy Holidays!
