Gregorian Bivolaru - Karma Yoga Translation from Romanian: Rodica Harabagiu Final correction of text: NATHA,Copenhagen, 1999 Motto: "In a state of detachment perform what has to be done, no matter what it is, and never wish to assume the fruits of your doings." Karma Yoga represents one of the four main classic forms of Yoga. Karma Yoga represents a starting point and is an essential part of the teachings of Bhagavad Gita, this serves as sufficient ground for its authenticity. Like all other forms of Yoga, the main and final purpose of Karma Yoga is to facilitate and accelerate the spiritual evolution of its persistent practitioner. From the different traditional definitions of Karma Yoga, the most current and precise, though not yet complete, is the following: "Karma Yoga is the Yoga of deep and thorough fusion with the Divine, through any unselfish action". Regarding this aspect, we will further on quote several contemporary masters: The main goal inKarma Yoga The efficiency of theKarma Yoga system The Specific Technique

The Mad Philosopher & 61-Point Relaxation The following relaxation exercise comes from Stephen LaBerge and Howard Rheingold’s Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming (1990), which they adapted from Swami Rama’s Exercise Without Movement (1984). It’s one of my favourite meditations—one that I can do in bed, waiting in line at the bank, or while riding in a taxi. Anywhere I can be still, really. I need more practice, though, because I rarely succeed in ending on the number 61. I’m often off by one or two. I believe I like this meditation because it is methodical, with clearly laid out steps to take. Please try it. 1. 2.

Boxee's Live TV stick lets you joyfully end your cable subscription |... Boxee is releasing a new Live TV stick add-on for its streaming media set-top box that will allow owners to gain access to live television channels, the company announced today. The Live TV stick, which will be available in January 2012 for $49, is basically a high-powered HD antenna that provides Boxee Box owners with local channels like ABC, CBS, Fox, CW and NBC with no monthly fee. Of course, the HD signal has always been free for people in the U.S., but until now there’s never been a compelling reason for many to take advantage of it. Boxee is betting that the combination of free basic live TV channels with videos from services such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Vimeo and others will be enough for many people to end their expensive cable subscriptions (a.k.a. cut the cord). It’s likely to work, too. In a new blog post, Boxee CEO Avner Ronen makes a compelling case for why cord cutting is soon to be on the rise. One thing the new Live TV stick won’t do is turn the Boxee Box into a DVR.

Burn off Your Meal Now that chain restaurant menus list how many calories are in each dish, it’s harder to justify eating certain foods anymore (we’re talking to you, 460-calorie scone from Starbucks). But a study, presented by Texas Christian University researchers at the Experimental Biology meeting in April 2013, found that people make even healthier choices if, instead of seeing the calorie count, they’re shown how much exercise it takes to burn off what they’re considering eating. Maybe one day, menus will list how many minutes you’ll need to log on the rowing machine to erase that scone (48 minutes with vigorous effort, for the record). Cheeseburger One single cheeseburger at 343 calories = 30 minutes of vigorous freestyle laps in the pool Cheese Pizza One slice of cheese pizza at 285 calories = 50 minutes of walking at a brisk pace (that means 4 mph on the treadmill) Tostadas Two tostadas with guacamole at 360 calories = 2 hours of Pilates Soda Beer

Tasting Wine - StumbleUpon Tasting Wine All About Wine Tasting There’s more to tasting a glass of wine than throwing it down your gullet. We’ll start slow. By Region Regional wine qualities tend to reflect the specifics of regional cuisines. Here are some top wine picks in Europe: Northern Italy: Piemonte and the Veneto are greatly influenced by the rich subtelty of their butter-worshipping French and Swiss neighbors. Central Italy: Trendy cuisine from Tuscany and Chianti favors lighter pastas, vegetables and seafood. Germany: Wines that are high in acid provide a necessary counterbalance to the fatty, bland, carb-and-meat-centric northern European diet.
