Maui Web Designer News WordPress 3.8 has just arrived and is full of exciting new changes. When you update to the new WordPress 3.8, you are taken to a Welcome screen which tells you all about what is new and what is different in this new release. There sure are a lot of new things to take in. We suggest you take the time to look over this page and follow some of the links. Now let’s talk about some of the changes. The new dashboard also comes with 8 different color schemes to choose from to fit your own personality. The Themes page has also received a bit of a redesign to bring it up-to-date with the rest of the new design. The Widgets section found under Appearance has also been tweaked to match the overall look of the new design. Lastly, bundled with the 3.8 release you will find a new default theme called 2014. 2014 allows you change-up the header, has two custom menus (one at the top and one in the sidebar), and there’s a widget area in the sidebar, footer, and right side of content area.
CSS tips and tricks The Web Standards Project Adding Adobe Edge Animation to YourWordPress Website. | Oddo Design, Austin, TX In my last post, I wrote about my first experience with Adobe Edge Preview 1— a pre-release, standalone application that is intended for web designers like myself, who need to create iPad-friendly animated graphics (i.e., animation that does not require Adobe’s Flash plug-in for viewing). And because my website is now completely powered by WordPress, I had to make a few modifications to my compass animation code to get it to play properly on my home page. Let’s take a look at the folders and files Adobe Edge automatically generates. The only Edge-generated files we are concerned with in this particular case are the .html and .js files highlighted in gray, at the top of the list. Important Note: Since this article was originally written, there are now as many as 4 Adobe Edge files involved:your_animation.html (see screenshot),your_animation_edge.js (see screenshot)— plus,your_animation_edgePreload.js,your_animation_edgeActions.js. becomes something like… Save and close your .js file.
