Puff Daddy - knitted stool
Puff is the Norwegian word for stool. We really liked the pouf from Christien Meinderstsma, but it´s way out of our price range. This simple pattern for a knitted stool has much thinner yarn, but the budget is just as thin;) Nice to rest your legs on, and very popular for the kids. What we used:Eskimo, 18 balls (Or yarn suitable for US #13 needles)Acrylic yarn would probably be a really good alternative, as it´s a piece of furnitureUS #19 circular needles2 cheap duves (feather and down) How we did it:Cast on 35 stitches using three threads.Knit the garter stitch until you´ve knitted all the balls, and there is just enough yarn left to asseble the stool. You now have ONE rectangular piece.Cast off loosely. Assemble the first long side. Stuff the duves into the stool. Assemble the other end in the same manner as the first. And there you go! This is a free stool knitting pattern from pickles.no.
Floral Bookmark Tatting Pattern
This is an adaptation of an edging found in Julia Sanders' "Tatting Patterns (Dover Needlework)", page 34, fig. 80. I omitted the central join, and changed the connecting chain. Requires 1 shuttle and ball thread. Large Ring: 7 p 3 p 4 p 3 p 7. cl r, rw. **Chain: 4 p 3 p 3 p 4. rw Small Ring: 5 j (to last p of Large Ring) 2 p 5. cl r, rw Large Ring: 7 j (to last p of Small Ring) 3 j (to 3rd p of Large Ring) 4 p 3 p 7. cl r, rw. Repeat from ** once more. Chain: 8 rw. One half flower is made, consisting of 3 large rings, 2 small rings, and 4 chains with picots. I made 5 flowers, and on the 5th one, I continued around the center of the flower, omitting the small joining chain. I used Cebelia size #30, and the bookmarks measure about 6" long without the tassle.

Crochet is perfect when you want to shape the yarn into certain shapes, and here´s a big round pillow dressed up with slip stitches. The pattern can be adjusted to fit any size round pillow. We crocheted the top and sides, and just pulled together in the bottom to avoid crocheting with the pillow inside.
