How to make a fabric rose
It's the last stiffened fabric project and then I'm moving on! I wanted to try an oversized, realistic fabric rose just for fun. Make a template with six petals. I traced around a dinner plate and a small bowl on the back of some ugly wrapping paper.
Make Your Own Marbled Scarf
My mother and I used to marble paper on the weekends when I was younger. To this day, I still feel like I am a mad scientist when I marble, experimenting with new colors and testing new patterns. Even if you don’t have experience with marbling, it’s a fun project to try with friends. It requires about an hour prep time, but once you’re all set up you’ll be able to marble to your heart’s content. You can get great results on your first try, but the more you play with the paint and pattern-making, the better it gets.
DIY Sharpie Tie Die
I love this Sharpie tie die DIY from The Art Girl Jackie blog! She did it with her adorable daughter and I think it’s a fun inspiration for this Spring and upcoming music festival season. The material count and skill level necessary to make this project are both pretty low. That being said...you will need access to a pretty decent wood shop. Okay, here's exactly what you'll need: Materials • Ceramic cereal bowl about 6.25" diameter and 2.5" height • 2 10-32 thread 1" length flat head phillips machine screws • 2 10-32 thread wood tee nuts • A small piece of 1/8" thick wool felt, at least 2.5" sq • A block of hardwood you can cut down to 16" x 2.3" x 3/8" • A $.10 dime (totally serious) Machine tools

Lovely Wire Knot Ring Tutorial
You can make this lovely ring (or a version of this design) yourself, using just some basic tools, wire and a lip balm! Yes, in this tutorial I am going to demonstrate that just basic beginner tools and a wire from Michael’s can go a long way! Wouldn’t this ring make a great present?? For the purpose of this tutorial I am going to be using the very basic, cheap tools that are available almost everywhere.
Boxed geometric heart
I really liked the 3D hearts in the gift-wrap I showed previously so I’ve been making paper versions! They make a nice alternative to a card. You can even make one every color of the rainbow. There is a little box which you can make to put the hearts in (each box fits two hearts). Templates for the box and the hearts are at the foot of the post.
DIY Solar USB Charger - Altoids
If we use two rechargeable AAs that put out a total of 2.4Vs we're going to need a solar panel that is at least 3 - 4Vs just to meet basic levels of charging. The higher the voltage of our solar cell (or cells) the less light we need to charge up our batteries. Now we're also trying to fit this into an Altoids Tin, so we're limited in space. I have found some great 4V solar cells that perfectly fit into Altoids Tins. They're the same ones I use with my Solar AA Altoids Charger. Sure, a bigger and better solar cell would give us added power, but it wouldn't fit into our tin.
