Quotations: Writers on Writing | Writer's Remorse I absolutely love it when writers write (or talk about) writing. Depending on what stage a writer is in the writing process, the writer’s quotes range from the devoted, to the confused, to the alcohol-dependent, and to the ultimately creative. In this short list of some of my favorite writer’s quotations about writing, I tried to leave out the mundane quotes and instead tried to include some of the more flavorful quotations about writing and the writing process. In most cases, the quotes seem to accurately represent the writers themselves. Stephen King: I am the literary equivalent of a Big Mac and fries.Ernest Hemingway: Write drunk, edit sober. Hunter S. Elmore Leonard: I try to leave out the parts that people skip. Isaac Asimov: If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. Moliere: A writer is congenitally unable to tell the truth and that is why we call what he writes fiction. William Faulkner: Writing is like prostitution. William S.

The answer to virtually any question or problem is at our fingertips. Google has made this possible. While I am a great admirer of Google and an avid user of its products, in a way, Google has made my life as a teacher a LOT more difficult. Let me explain. In the "old days" (that would be pre-internet) when a teacher assigned a worksheet with a series of questions on it students had a few options to get the answers. 1. Now I am a teacher. There are two solutions to this problem: 1. Through extensive research and investigation I have come to the conclusion that option number one will prove to be an ineffective strategy. So, what is a "Google-proof question?" Bloom's is arranged into six different levels of questioning ranging from knowledge (the simplest) to evaluation (the most complex). 1. These questions can not be Googled. We are in an age of information. Google has made my job as a teacher a lot harder, but I'm glad.

Mark Z. Danielewski Quotes “This much I'm certain of: it doesn't happen immediately. You'll finish [the book] and that will be that, until a moment will come, maybe in a month, maybe a year, maybe even several years. You'll be sick or feeling troubled or deeply in love or quietly uncertain or even content for the first time in your life. It won't matter. Out of the blue, beyond any cause you can trace, you'll suddenly realize things are not how you perceived them to be at all. You might try then, as I did, to find a sky so full of stars it will blind you again. Then no matter where you are, in a crowded restaurant or on some desolate street or even in the comforts of your own home, you'll watch yourself dismantle every assurance you ever lived by. And then the nightmares will begin

Photo Quoto Song Search Engine Song Search Engine Just Hear It is a song search engine that lets you play-back the music right in the browser, without registering or paying. The About page explains “just hear it pays for licenses from all the major performing-rights organizations ... which then pay the publishers and writers in proportion to the number of plays they get”. The colors on the site don’t make for the easiest reading (small gray-on-black fonts) and you won’t be able to find just any song, but the selection from what I tried was still pretty broad.
