Thinking Machine 4 Thinking Machine 4 explores the invisible, elusive nature of thought. Play chess against a transparent intelligence, its evolving thought process visible on the board before you. The artwork is an artificial intelligence program, ready to play chess with the viewer. If the viewer confronts the program, the computer's thought process is sketched on screen as it plays. A map is created from the traces of literally thousands of possible futures as the program tries to decide its best move. Those traces become a key to the invisible lines of force in the game as well as a window into the spirit of a thinking machine. Play the game. Mount 999 Gmail Accounts As Local Drives [Featured Download] Gmail offers users with almost 7.2GB data of storage space, and in the past we have told you how you can easily mount Gmail and use it as a local drive, but imagine having the ability to mount 999 Gmail accounts as local drives, the amount of backup space you will have will be pretty enormous. The software requires you to install GmailFS (Gmail Drive Shell Extension) a software that allows you to mount your Gmail account as a local drive, but with GmailFS you can only load one drive at any given time. Gmail Drive Config is a add-on for GmailFS that allows you to load upto 999 Gmail accounts as a drive. You can add or delete the drive without rebooting your PC. To add more than one drive, double click on the Gmail Drive Config (does not require installation) executable and provide a new username that will be used to load the Gmail Account as a local Drive and click on Add. Download Gmail Drive Config for Free

6 Books Every Programmer Should Own I’ve seen many lists about the best programming books and I am sure there are a lot of books that are specific to a programming knowledge or technology – that I have not included in my list. The books I have chosen are those that are meant to inspire, increase productivity and improve your programming design skills. Note: This list has no particular order. Code Complete 2 Steve McConnell The main focus of this book to help you improve your programming design skills. The Pragmatic Programmer: From Journeyman to Master Andrew Hunt and David Thomas This book focuses on the best practices of programming (i.e. what you should and should not do). Pragmatic Thinking and Learning: Refactor Your Wetware Andy Hunt From the author of The Pragmatic Programmer, this book takes one-step back from programming and focuses on your everyday thinking and problem solving skills. The Productive Programmer Neal Ford and David Bock Algorithms in a Nutshell George T Heineman, Gary Pollice and Stanley Selkow Thomas H.

How Flash Drives and Social Engineering can Compromise Networks Security WatchIsland Hopping: The Infectious Allure of Vendor Swag Jesper M. Johansson The technique of island hopping—penetrating a network through a weak link and then hopping around systems within that network—has been around for years. finding ways to use this to their advantage (think phishing and other forms of social engineering). One of my favorite implementations of leveraging the human element was perpetrated by Steve Stasiukonis of Secure Network Technologies during a penetration test for a customer. Maybe some employees were wise enough to ignore these USB drives, and perhaps some of the USB drives were discarded, but it really only took one user with one drive to infect his own system and provide a gateway into the network. USB flash drives are everywhere these days. The technical details of the attack are actually quite simple. In the Beginning On the podium was an unattended laptop. There are some obvious variations on this particular theme. Other Beginnings Device Blocking

Removing an object on a photo with GIMP Tutorial to remove objects (or people) and restore the portion of the background they hide in a photo with the Resynthesizer plugin. An impressive video has been posted on Youtube to show how, with Photoshop, it is possible to delete objects in an image automatically, without any design work. The same can be done with The Gimp in fact and for longer (it is not impossible that the same algorithm has been reused). This plugin "re-synthesizes" the background" and rebuilds it from same elements on the photo. First, see the Resynthesizer tutorial to know the purpose of controls. We will put in practice the commands using the same pictures that the Photoshop demonstration video. Using Resynthesizer in Script-Fu 1. 2. We want to remove the tree on the top left. 3. This windows is opened. 4.Here is the final image Using the Map -> Resynthesize filter To choose the sample that reconstructs the background, this command is necessary. 1. 2. 3. To remove the road, it is delimited with the lasso. 4. 5. More

Labs Game From Scratch C++ Edition! Want to create a game using C++ and SFML? This is the perfect place to start! This tutorial series will follow the creation of a simple game in C++ from the very beginning till the end, a micro-version of the overall purpose of this site. C++ is an evolving language standard and a great many tutorials out there are horrifically outdated or just plain bad. Similarly, most tutorials in books or on sites are by their very nature required to be very short and concise. This series is meant to be a living document, so if you have any questions on specific section, let me know and I will update accordingly! Finally, I don’t pretend to be an expert on C++ nor SFML, so if you see a mistake or you disagree with something I have said, let me know. Alright, lets get this started. EDIT: This tutorial was written a couple years ago and targets Visual Studio 2010. The Introduction Part 1 In this section we set up and configure your Visual C++ project and configure Visual C++ to work properly with SFML.

The 10 Best Android Apps that Make Rooting Your Phone Worth the Hassle (promoting self from Gizmodo) Yo. I'm with you. Same phone. Same situation. I "want" to root, but I have no pressing desire to do it. I'd say the Adfree app is probably the only reason (aside from getting rid of bloatware) that I'd really want to root my phone. I use a lot of free apps that are bogged down with ads popping up. I have a DInc too, and I'm rooted. 1) On-device system backups. 2) On-device program backups. 3) Custom ROMs. 4) Crapware removal. Honestly, those are four really good reasons.

12 Absolutely and Insanely Essential Utilities For Programmers In every era in recent times there has been one profession that for a short while you could enter without formal training. Autodidacts in the 19th century could read the law without recourse to formal education (see Abe Lincoln). In the early 20th century it was aviation. For a short while in the 1980s and early 1990s, it was computing, thanks to the release of the Apple IIe, the IBM PC and the Mac. Were it not for that Window® of opportunity, I hate to think what would have become of me. As much as I continue to love to code 30 years later, there are a few aspects I hate: Doing a mundane task more than onceNot remembering how i fixed this problem in the pastLosing work to crashed disks or stupid irreversible revisionsNot being able to find subtle text differences in files. Hence, my 12 essential utilities…. Before We Begin I assume you have (and use)… If not, stop reading this list and go get em. While I work on both Windows and the Mac, this list is entirely Windows-centric. # 1. #8 Clipx
