The Basics of Ancient Hebrew Have you ever wanted to read the Hebrew Bible in its original language? Believe it or not, this is not an impossible goal as the Hebrew language is a fairly simple language. Have you ever heard the expression, "Lost in the translation"? This is very true for any literary work, even the Bible itself. If you want to really "know" what the Bible says you need to learn how to read it in its original language. In a short amount of time and a little dedication on your part you will be able to master the following lessons and within a short time you will be translating the Hebrew Bible for yourself rather than relying on a translator. Just to show you how easy it is, let me introduce you to the word הָאָרֶץ (The far left word in Genesis 1:1 above). Sound interesting?

TRUTH Of The Sons Of GOD "Sons of GOD" Let us begin by quoting the two passages in Genesis 6 concerning the "Sons of GOD": "That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." [Genesis 6:2] "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown." So, the question that is commonly asked by many [Christians and non-Christians alike]: "Who are the "Sons of GOD" of Genesis 6:2,4?" This is a rather rash conclusion, without a much further and deeper consideration of the texts themselves, and for those who already hold that view, please allow for some time to cover the texts most thoroughly. Those who continue to promote that view despite what will be shown here, then do not fully consider the ramifications of their conclusion and what it would mean to the Gospel itself and end-time events.

THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS The following is a fresh translation, made from the Coptic text published by Messrs. Brill of Leiden. In the preparation of this versi the following six translations have been consulted, in addition to to published by Messrs. These are the secret words which the living Jesus spoke, and Didymus Judas Thomas wrote them down. (1) And he said: He who shall find the interpretation of the words shall not taste of death. (2) Jesus said: He who seeks, let him not cease seeking until: finds; and when he finds he will be troubled, and if he is troubled, he will be amazed, and he will reign over the All. (3) Jesus said: If those who lead you say unto you: Behold, the Kingdom is in heaven, then the birds of the heaven will be before you. (4) Jesus said: The man aged in his days will not hesitate ask a little child of seven days about the place of life, and he shall live. (6) His disciples asked him and said unto him: Wilt thou that we fast? (21) Mary said to Jesus: Whom are thy disciples like?

Wesley Center-Noncanonical Literature Noncanonical Literature Documents to Aid Students and Scholars in Biblical Interpretation including Introductions and Summaries of Many Noncanonical Works Non-Canonical Literature Disclaimer The Bible is an invaluable collection of sacred ancient texts, written and assembled over several hundreds of years by numerous authors. These texts were written to particular people living at a definite time and place who shared common experiences and knowledge. By studying similar literature that precedes and follows the biblical writings chronologically, students of the Bible are better prepared to discover the intended meaning. Apocryphal and pseudepigraphal literature was apparently intended either to supplement or supplant existing canonical literature. The Book of Jasher Sacred-textsApocrypha Referred to in Joshua and Second Samuel Faithfully Translated "Is not this written in the Book of Jasher?" This is one of the apochrypal Books of Jasher. There is also another spurious Book of Jasher, published 1750, in which Jasher is treated as the name of the author. This text covers much of the same ground as the traditional Mosaic books of the Bible, from the creation of the world to the death of Moses, albeit with several minor variations. Here are some English nouns: book, person, chewing-gum, country, county, city, road, field, justice, peace, language, concept, man, woman, god, programmer, linguist. In the first lesson, we learned a few Greek nouns: Articlesare those little words in front of the noun. In English, there are two articles: "the" is the definite article, and "a" is the indefinite article. Positionmeans just what the word implies, and refers to the position with respect to the article and a noun. Nouns A full understanding of Greek nouns requires us to know some Greek nouns.
