Cookie Dough Smoothie | Superfood Smoothies I am SO excited to share this incredible raw cookie dough smoothie from Julie Morris's incredble new book, SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIES. This fabulous book contains 100 incredible, nutrient-dense raw and vegan superfood smoothie recipes that will rock your world, as well as tons of information, hints, tips, and tricks for incorporating superfoods into your daily smoothie-making regime. I deliberately scheduled the fabulous Navitas Naturals giveaway this month (don't miss out on your chance to win 1 of 4 $200 gift cards to purchase whatever you like, as well as a copy of SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIES ) to coincide with Julie's book launch. In fact, I first came in contact with Julie after reading Brendan Brazier's FABULOUS book, THRIVE FOODS, where Julie contributed many of the delicious vegan recipes. If you don't know Julie Morris , get acquainted, or you are just letting one of the jewels of the whole foods world pass you by. And let's not forget the all-important superfoods guidance.

Vegan Slow-Cooker Caramelized Onion Chili! You probably have everything you need to make this sitting in your cabinets right now and this is SO EASY. The chili, which is totally vegan, vegetarian AND gluten free, is the perfect thing to make on a cold weekday so you can come home from work or school to a delicious hot meal. The secret to the sweet flavor of this chili is caramelizing the onions. I’ve recently been seeing a lot of news about canned tomatoes having high levels of BPA and I’m hoping to phase them out of my cooking life soon. Note: I only have pictures of the finished meal this week because I started cooking before I realized I lost my camera, and then I found it in the car during the crockpotting of the chili. Vegan Slow-Cooker Caramelized Onion Chili makes 6-8 servings total time: 6-8 hours total hands-on time: 45 minutes What you’ll need: 1 onion, sliced 2 cans black beans 2 14 oz cans diced tomatoes (with green chiles, if you can find that variety. 1 can of corn or package of frozen corn 1 cup vegetable broth 1 cup water

This Rawsome Vegan Life should be as easy as unplugging the stove! Roasted Strawberry and Toasted Coconut Popsicles It feels like everyone is on vacation, in the sun, under palm trees, at the pool, living WELL (with good vacation hair)! I’m happy for them. I’m definitely really happy for them. We should all take it to the beach these days. Hm… here’s the part where I encourage you to treat yo’ self. Ps. Let’s be a little bit fancy. Roasting strawberries concentrates their crazy good summer flavors and brings out their tart and their sweet. If we’re roasting, we might as well be toasting! Toasted coconut is nutty and adds the perfect amount of chew to our popsicles. Once the strawberries are well roasted, they go into the food processor with a bit of sugar and lime juice. Coconut flakes are stirred into coconut milk. What happens next is a simple spoon, layer, and freeze. Let it be easy! After a night in the freezer our popsicles are ready to go! I hope you’re treating yourself right at this start to summer! Roasted Strawberry and Toasted Coconut Popsicles makes 10 to 12 popsicles Print this Recipe!

I have a couple of pretty gigantic projects going on right now, and while moving a mile a minute isn't my preferred way to live, it's been a reality. May your days be productive and peaceful, and may you bring great energy and magic to whatever your work might be. Super-Power Morning Smoothie Serves 1 1 cup unsweetened coconut water 2 tablespoons almond butter 1 tablespoon flax oil 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until completely uniform in color and all the bits of green are pulverized.

Back On Track Green Monster (Banana-Free) Aside from my current career in the food business, many of you may not know that I also moonlight as a Barber. The job is not to be taken lightly as it requires a fine attention to detail and precision, something I have no place in assuming much skill. However, I’ve had some practice in this area with recipe development and I figure it’s always wise to develop a new skill set for the resume. Every month, Eric calls me into the bathroom where I find him stripped down to his boxers with his Deluxe hair trimming set splayed about, clutching the large electric trimmer in one hand. The most difficult aspect of this task is by far the point at which I have to trim the base of his hairline and make a very, very, very straight line.
