DigixArt Studio DigixArt was co-founded in 2015 by Yoan Fanise after 14 years spent at Ubisoft France and Singapore. He participated to legendary titles like Beyond Good & Evil, Peter Jackson’s King Kong or the Raving Rabbids for which he invented the famous wacky language. He joined Ubisoft Singapore in 2010 to create the audio department and to take part in the whole new naval game play of Assassin’s Creed III Back to France, he released Valiant Hearts: The Great War. That game was both a war game and fiercely anti-war at the same time, a story not about conflict’s heroics but about their tragedy and ultimate futility. It won many awards all around the world, including Baftas, VGA and Annie Awards. In March 2015, he co-founded DigixArt studio.

SOULGAME offers “Capture”, Facial Recognition and Artificial Intelligence Paolo Cirio created a database with 4000 faces of French police officers to crowdsource their identification with Facial Recognition technology and through the platform Cirio also printed the officers’ headshots as street art posters and posted them throughout Paris. The project Capture comments on the potential uses and misuses of Facial Recognition and Artificial Intelligence by questioning the asymmetry of power at play. The lack of privacy regulations of such technology can eventually turn against the same authorities that urge the use of it. With this artistic provocation, Cirio shows how the technological power of Facial Recognition is excessively dangerous for society and even for the police.

'Editorial perspectives on Digital Identities and Alternative Realities' by CLOT Magazine's editors In his seminal 1964 work Understanding Media, philosopher and media theorist Marshall McLuhan claimed that the medium through which a message was transmitted was so meaningful that it represented the message itself. Some years later in Simulacrum and Simulation (1981), Jean Baudrillard, a pioneer theorist in electronic and digital arts, imagined that the hyper-real digital context was “a gigantic simulacrum – not unreal, but a simulacrum.” For Baudrillard, the fact that simulacra had replaced representation in contemporary society was a presage at the time. Fast forward five decades, and even though our media forms have profoundly changed, the symbiotic relationship between the content (message) and the channel of communication (medium) still stands, stronger than ever before. However, computers (and the internet posteriorly) have been influencing artists since the mid-1960s. In 2019, it certainly felt as though we are immersed in accelerating economies and societies.

MaKey MaKey PicoBoard Scratch Trumpet I have been programming an electronic trumpet in Scratch. I am using a MaKey MaKey and a PicoBoardfor the hardware side of this project. Here is the Scratch code I devised. You can download the project from my Scratch projects page. Scratch reads the PicoBoard's sound sensor to determine if I am blowing on the microphone. For some notes, which use all open valves on the trumpet, I have added a fourth key that the MaKey MaKey reads.

How Technology Is Augmenting Traditional Theater While theater has been using all sorts of effects—from lighting to sound—for hundreds of years to make the experience more immersive for the audience, new pioneering technologies offer a unique way of adding an extra dimension to performances. The theater industry is experimenting with immersive technologies, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) to see how these new mediums can take the art form in new directions. Here are some of the companies pushing the boundaries in this space. National Theatre Since the opening night of Hamlet starring Peter O'Toole on 22 October 1963, London’s National Theatre has produced well over 800 plays.
